Dear god yes. That scene was sexy, until he took a bolter round to the dome lol. Warp Spiders are one of my favorite !
Warp Spider - Raptorfarian - DoWII - Grrrrrr Sorry, I am back again I think the Howling Banshee and Striking Scorpions will be good enough to fill out "Assault" needs, but the lack of an airborne melee unit might hurt us, especially on large and open maps. The Striking Scorpion will probably be rather straight forward to play, the stealth might be a bit tricky and we know nothing about how it will work, but just removing our "dot" on the minimap and making them "un-markable"/immune to "spot" would make them extraordinarily stealthy (especially against new players), though this would be rather inefficient against an organized team. Their armor (Heavy Aspect Armor) is also known (in the lore) for easily taking quite a few hits from a Bolter, so in this way they shouldn't be any weaker than a Power Armor and maybe (just maybe) a bit more in line with a MoN, though still weaker. The enhanced strength should also give us damage comparable of an Assault Marine with a Chainsword. I think our biggest weakness with be Power Weapons, since our Chainsword would always loose a "clinging fight" against one of those, which would make it especially hard for new players to defeat other melee units. The Howling Banshees will probably be harder to play than the Striking Scorpion due to their light armor and reliance on agility to evade damage, which is always harder to use and much more punishing for mistakes. Their damage will probable be rather good, but the "Banshee Wail/Scream" could cause us quite a lot of troubles. If it hits allies it would be near useless in groups and make the Howling Banshees much less useful as a whole, and if we only get "one wail" at a time we would be left defenseless with a single miss and, depending on the recharge time, we would also have a hard time against groups of targets and spread out targets since we would need to rely on cover for recharging our wail. This will be much less of a problem if the Wail doesn't cause friendly fire, since we can then play in groups and assist each other with it, e.g. one or two Wails at the first target/group while the rest keep theirs ready for unforeseen enemy backup and for charging the next group. You should also remember that Howling Banshees could carry Power WEAPONS not just Power Swords in all the previous codex, which means there is hope for us getting Power Axes and maybe even "non-named" Power Glaives (post-launch), but I then again, GW aren't exactly known for being happy about anything but Loyalists so this might be a long shot To be honest, I think the only reason they changed this is due to them not bothering to make any new models of Howling Banshees using anything but swords, money do speak rather loud and the Eldar players are few in numbers (compared to the Loyalists). Also, I will just quote myself here, since it might be useful for this discussion
The model in the pic is a Banshee Exarch. The bog standard banshee has only ever carried a sword. However we know as for sure as we can that all our classes will have some alternatives.
I'll be damned, they were Exarchs sold in a 4 unit package :/ Anyhow, my point still stands; The Howling Banshees have always been able to carry Power Weapons, so there is a chance they might be able to do so in this game. It would be extraordinarily awesome if the non-exarch Howling Banshees could carry a standard Power Glaive at some point, but I won't keep my hopes to high
I kinda wish your ground assault had a toggle parry mode kinda like in neverwinter games. Slight reduction to move speed while active but passive % chance to parry incoming melee attacks and possibly deflection of incoming solid projectiles.
On the topic or random chance ignore "ranged" damage. That could actually be a decent "talent" for the Howling Banshees's Progression Tree, but I fear the opposition (Loyalists and Chaos) would call it OP. It would be kinda useless against Orkz due to their high RoF with low damage per hit.
in previous dev discussion banshees would have a kind of parry for incoming ranged fire, what that entails obviously no clue. though we should not have to wait long!
well if you want fast teleport like a true warp spider then they should make the teleport system like roll like click spacebar you don't choose which part you want to roll like hold something and let release it like you said will take long time so it should be something like roll but for high distance and without choose for example you while you moving or sprint you click on button it teleport you near enemy face directly or you hold S and click on button it teleport you back directly without choose place like arrow far on ground and you waiting and choose it will be so slow in battle since you will be weak and ranged guy
