Not really artwork but GW has new Harlequin models, including a Solitaire. Not sure if I like the whole leather look. It's like they keep trying to make them fit in more with the dark 40K universe but the entire concept of Harlequins is ridiculous in the first place. They're still good models though. Also reading the Path of the Dark Eldar series I got the impression that the Harlequin's kiss was a concealable weapon(after all it just shoots a single thread) but here they look like giant shuriken catapults attached on their arms. Are there different versions?
Probably. After all, if the Imperium can create a digital version of a meltagun, then the Eldars should able to do even better. Maybe the Harlequins ones are some sort of ornamented weapons.
I went back to the book. So it's obviously a much smaller concealable version with(I assume) shorter range than the actual combat variety since it says he had to press it against the enemy. Makes sense of course, it would be silly to think that the Eldar would only have one design per weapon.
It says press the narrow end. It works well with the tube that narrows down a bit. But yes, I agree that HK has to be smaller, these on the models are gigantic! The new models themselves are fine, not that the old ones were much worse, I'd say. Solitaire has a fancy hood, but what's the deal with horns..? oO
I thought Harlequins don't need stuff like horns to play, they just act and make people see things, you know..
True, they use holograms and gasses to make stuff happen. So the real reason is probably rule of cool.
Its actually Jokaero employed by the imperium who build the really cool imperial stuff. Sort of a Eldar "Sister" race. It allows the imperials to maintain their technological regression but also get their hands on some awesome gizmos. Might be getting me some of those harlies to paint. I'm getting a bit tired of skaven.
