This MAY have been posted here already. I'm unsure, the thread's grown so delightfully it's hard to tell anymore. Whatever the case, still remains a nice pic. THIS, on the other hand. Do I even need to comment? Why's that, cousin?
The cults of the Bloody-Handed God are not for the squeamish and the peaceful. It takes a certain mindset to look at the deeds of he who killed the greatest hero of the mortal Eldar, who tortured the mother of their kind and crippled the smith of the gods... and to decide that this is a being worthy of veneration. The aspect warriors are followers of a god of murder and bloodshed, and strive to prove themselves worthy of their patron. Their zeal is not that different to the religious fanaticism of some Space Marines - just done from a different perspective. Anyway, not sure if these got posted, but I find them quite good:
That may be why each Shrine follows only one Aspect of Khaine - he is a multi-faceted god, and to give in to all of his influences would be catastrophic indeed! Good to see more love for the Dire Avengers, thanks for sharing
The autarch could be seen as somewhat of a follower of the Bloody-Handed God in its entirety - following and studying all the aspects, but ultimately lost on none. If Khaine's facets can be seen as truly distinct, the autarch is perhaps the one in a best position to see and study them all. S/he may miss some of the finer points (or s/he may not), but is unrivaled at seeing the greater whole. Mind you, it is not an easy thing to do - few try it, and fewer still succeed.
One can only imagine the mind of a being who sees all the aspects of Khaela Mensha Khaine. Which reminds me, is Autarch armour is the same as that of the Excarch's, in the sense that whoever dons the armour then becomes at one with the spirits of the previous wearers?
Not sure of that. The codex only says that they have "heavy aspect armor", which is also the case for the regular scorpions, warp spiders and dark reapers.
