Honestly, I think people are making a big deal out of colors. After playing the game for a while I can tell appart different classes of SMs/CSMs at a glance just by their silhouette. The main exception are Havocs because they lack the backpack. So after a while, people will be able to tell aspects apart regardless of how their colors work.

  2. I don't care about the color pallets, as far as I know, that's how they've always been for Eldar. I'm just worried about the quality of the models. Sure it's a wip, but how close is it to not being a wip. The models for CSM and SM look so much better than these. The scary part is, they look no different from this one.

    That ass :D
Anyway, I think the model look a bit better when showed in the video, which means my disapproval of the new ones could be based on the painting/color scheme and/or lightening effects.
It will be interesting to see them ingame.
  4. You wouldn't believe how much shaders/textures/lighting can change the appearance/impression you get from a model. Not to speak about a ton of stuff thats missing from a basic model, like Belts/Pouches/ornaments/gemstones/"armbands"/... and so on

Or just the simply difference between seeing them in game moving from different angles, or in a static picture. I will reserve judgement for atleast untill I see something ingame, or I see a picture where something is objectively wrong, that shouldn't be there.^^

    Craftworldcolor vs Aspectcolor:
Now I do wish we had more Craftworldcolor representation )=
No not because it gives a tactical advantage or anything, but because it looks cooler.

An army painted simply in the bog standart colors is lame.
An army painted where you can still see the Aspectcolors, BUT ALSO the craftworldcolors looks amazing.

I mean, the Aspectcolors are very cool and fitting, skyblue/white for Hawks, camodarkgreen for Scorpions, majesticdarkblue for DireAvengers and so on, but Craftworld colors are cool too.

And because we have NO Guardians, we would only have vehicles left to show of our Paintjobs.

But oh well, probably not much we can do... (And I do see the technical and artistic problems with allowing Craftworld colors... It's not that easy to make a combination look good.)

Wraithguards/blades will use the Craftworld colors, though they won't be here for a looooooong time :(
"So cool, but yet so far" (doesn't make sense, but is true nonetheless).

I hope we will be able to represent our craftworld in some way, maybe by letting us change the color of the helmet or something like that. Since having no customization would be absolutely terrible.
In any case GW will have to approve of whatever color schemes we are allow to have for the Eldar, so it can't really be that lore breaking.

I am glad someone else agree on that the shaders/textures/lightening is important for us to make a clear image of the models.

The official art for Dire Avengers shows them wearing different colored helmets/plumes to show their craftworlds.

in fact as I recall one of the devs came into the subforum and was asking after ideas for how to make customization for eldar, precisely because they were in a bit of a rut.

Yes I'd imagine craftworld highlights to appear on aspect warriors in the form of sashes and braids and plumes, possibly runes and waystones as well.
