Eldar And Warframe

?

Should we include warframe elements for the eldar (and later the dark eldar) and if so, how

  1. No we should not include any acrobatic elements from warframe.

  2. Yes, we should include a select few acrobatic elements for only certain classes

  3. yes, we should include a select few acrobatic elements for all classes

  4. yes, we should include virtually all/all of the warframe acrobatic elements for all eldar classes

  1. The first thing I thought when I saw warframe was OH MY GOD A GAME WHERE I PLAY AS AN ELDAR!

The mechanics in Warframe include things like wall running, flipping over enemies, sliding along and shooting while doing it, sliding between enemies legs, wall jumping, back flipping off of walls, flipping in general, and some other neato ninja assassin eldar tricks.

This would be a perfect way to make eldar so much more unique! It would also make it so that eldar could be less durable while still being balanced. Why just include faster speed when you can make them play so differently and uniquely? Pretty much every eldar unit other than vehicle pilots, guardians, warp spiders, striking scorpions, and warlocks (maybe they can--not sure) can do this. We could easily allow access to only some moves to some classes, or just make them more effective for certain classes--howling banshees would obviously be the most acrobatic class.

All eldar should definitely be very mobile in terms like this as well. Possibly the most mobile.
And by most mobile I mean that EVERY eldar player can outrun other players in difficult terrain like this. It would represent fleet as well as their ingenious armour very well.
Well, maybe some orks could be faster than, lets say a striking scorpion or dark reaper, but all the others would be faster than any other faction.
I understand that space marines are strong and fast, but if they are going to get sturdier armour (which they definitely should), we need to balance them out a bit by making them slower.
And Terminators... I think they should be much less mobile.

And ofc wyches with the same running skills as other eldar. And incubi! The DE "aspect warriors" dont have a better initiative (initiative 5 (klaivex has 6)) than CWE troops for nothing.

EDIT: Dunno what warframe is but I voted anyway.

Striking Scorpions are still pretty fast. The only thing I can see someone outrunning is a Dark Reaper and even that would be hard.

True, Striking Scorpions still have fleet as well as move through cover, but I would say that in open ground they could be outran by some.

In cover, they could be a lot quicker and unnoticeable. They are fast, but they still have the heavy aspect armour, like Dark Reapers.

I can't think of anything I can really see catching a Striking Scorpion and the reason someone would catch a Dark Reaper is the big guns they carry.

    In my opinion anyway.

I can't think of anything catching a banshee, especially since they run so quick and are the fastest unit eldar have on foot.
But striking scorpions, they are infiltrators and while they are still generally eldar-fast, they are heavily armoured (SM-level) and stalkers, not runners and open-field fighters.

Dark Reapers, is the matter of where the enemy is coming from! ^^
A missile launcher shot in the face hurts, so it would indeed be tough to catch one, but they are still the slowest eldar unit, along with wraithguards/blades.

Basically an eldar warhost enters a battle like this:
    - Rangers and Striking Scorpions arrive first and set camp, hiding out of sight.
    - Dire Avengers and Howling Banshees move on to take midfield and engage the enemy, along with wave serpents et al.
    - Dark Reapers, as well as some rangers who chose to stay further, fire on the back.
    - Then there are the guardian jetbikes and singing spears who go wherever they want and very quickly, wherever they are needed.

This went maybe a little offtopic but anyway...
Scorpions move slowly but swiftly in cover
Banshees run, very fast, or use a transport, and fight in the open
Reapers and rangers stay where they are

So it would depend on the terrain. I don't want scorpions to run as fast as banshees or avengers, their fluff is that they move silently in cover.
A good way for that could be climbing faster and perhaps crawling through tight spaces, while banshees are only quick at jumping over obstacles.

Yeah that works but I think the Scorpions should still be a bit faster than most things with Wraithblades at the same pace as Space Marines.

I think it would be a good idea to implement, particularly because Eldar will most likely be the least populated faction at launch. Just need to make sure you leave improvement for when the DE are implemented (as Mngwa mentioned), as we are noted for being even faster and agile than our Craftworld brethren. ;)

  9. if you havent played it then what are you waiting for?

anyway, space marines should be very fast, but they should have to build up their speed a bit. and there are very few--as in in the thousands (out of the trillion or so space marines there are)--that can keep up with warlocks, aspect warriors, incubi, and wyches in terms of raw speed and acrobatic ability.

also, warp spiders are easily the slowest eldar infantry troop--its just that they can teleport.

Spesh Mhareens keep pace with incubi or wyches? o_O
TT-wise, I could only believe maybe a few special characters SM have (don't really know any and dont have their codex) got a 6 for their initiative. Even banshees got only 4 (exarch has 5).
Well, initiative isn't everything when it comes to speed but it is a nice measure.

Also, good point on the warp spiders, those generators they carry are probably heavy. But Dark Reapers are quite slow as well!

And I will see if I will look into warframe!

EDIT: checked, howling banshees do have 5 initiative actually... well. Still less than wyches!
