Hi everyone I started to play EC yesterday and for whatever reason, the game seems to change my display options in Windows (10). Ever since I played EC, everything is bigger in size. Chrome for example is bigger, I now have to scroll through my bookmarks which was never the case and the whole bookmarks bar is "bulkier". Steam is bigger and blurry ever since and I wonder if anyone else has experienced such issues? Or maybe (and hopefully) someone here knows how to rectify this. Many thanks in advance!
maybe its because you are using different sollutions for your desktop and EC? im using windows 10 aswell but dont have any of this problems but im also using same 1920x1080 for windows and EC
Nothing to do with EC. That happens on my work machine sometimes and I don't have EC installed at work. It's never happened on my home PC, where I do.
@Tharin Windows 10 here, and I've seen the changed resolution on desktop as well. To be honest, the game is a hog to run and your computer probably doesn't like it. Also Windows 10 is a micromanaging control freak and you should disable any auto-feautures it has. Try to avoid alt-tabbing, play fullscreen, and make sure you're in the right resolution. As for fixing this, it's super easy. RIGHT CLICK ON DESKTOP (a menu will appear) CLICK ON "DISPLAY SETTINGS" (a window will appear) CLICK ON "ADVANCED SETTINGS" (small highlighted words at the bottom of your text) And from there you can change your resolution to whatever you need it to be. Also straight up, you can type "change resolution" in the open windows menu and the link will take you right there. Hope this helps!
It could also be a series of keystrokes that you're combining while in game to increase the magnification. Mashing the windows key accidentally can lead to all kinds of terrible side effects.
Resolution is same in Windows and EC (it wasn't at the very first start and yes, I used alt-tab to switch from game to Windows). I reckon it has something to do with EC as nothing else changed on my computer before this weird issue occured.
Oh it's definitely EC, no doubts there. So your EC is out of resolution as well then? Did the "change resolution" reset your desktop/browser to normal resolution? If it doesn't at first make the change, save it, and then restart.
My EC seems fine, it's just outside of EC. Tried to change windows resolution back and forth with restarts and still no change. Very weird indeed. EDIT: It seems a bit that the resolution displayed is a lower one than the one I actually have in my options. EDIT2: Kind of fixed it. Just changed the icon size in Windows to 100%. Everything is smaller now than it was before but that'll do. Thanks all for your support!
