I think one of the MOST refreshing things about this dev team is that they are unafraid to show us the crap that other companies try to hide like hell. I want to see the steps as are they are taken, I want to know the roadblocks that come up, and how they will be defeated or circumvented, I even want to see the failures, and how the team goes forward from there. Seeing everything, or nearly everything, is what makes us feel like we have a part in the whole production, small as that part may be. T
Honestly, I just want my fears put to rest about how this game will look. Then I can join everyone else and worry about more important things like game mechanics and balance. In my head and based of what I've read, I think the devs have a good vision. If they deliver on that, then all of this 'bad press' will essentially just be water under the bridge. That said, nothing soothes me more than Brent's posts about combat and gameplay and Patrick's quote of "We will have better graphics than PS2". Those are literally my Astronomicon
Well I highly doubt that our buildings will consist mostly of grey, untextured boxes at release. That would just be silly.
That was the point of releasing this pre-alpha footage though. To show players that gameplay has been their primary consideration when developing the game. They have only begun to produce art assets.
