Matchmaking to fill a drop pod sounds really good

Also, I think people with a specific rank/experience/reputation should be allowed in the drop pod

It would be nice if there was a suitable matchmaking/LFG system while in orbit, and the squad is then deployed to the surface in a specified area where they want to go (with a random scatter) in a drop-pod..

But, you also have to consider that not all players might want to join groups and stuff, and it shouldn't be forced on you. Sometimes you have to suspend your disbelief in games, so I voted no.

it's been mentioned that you can pay something or take some penalty to drop pod back in instead of walking back from your respawn point, so at the very least you will be able to choose where you are dropping in from.
  5. I don't like this, A drop pod for one marine? really? :/
  6. Watch out now, we have a badass over here! :p ;)
Hahaha love those rambo moments you can have in PS2.
Anyway back Ontopic: I think a minimum for drop pods is a must. Since a pod can hold like what? 8 To 10 marines? Would be a waste to use a pod for just one marine.
  7. I would like to use drop pods as rams. Hit squads before they know what happened.

Drop pods shouldn't *ever* land on anything. Why you ask? Because they arn't some sort of indestructible super-ship. not using the landing jets and slamming full speed into a tank may very well destroy the tank, but it would also kill everyone in the pod. Using the landing jets so that the impact was survivable by those on board, would just piss off the tank.
  9. Darn. But it would be fun, but I still have to consider realism.
