Don't nerf the Eldar!

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Vargas78, Sep 28, 2016.

  1. Eldar are OP in table-top (not saying much, actual 40k isn't balanced or playtested at all, from what I can tell), as well as in Battlefleet Gothic, and both Dawns of War (dependent on the expansion, though IIRC Eldar remain consistently strong throughout). So yeah, it's a running theme in 40k games. Doesn't help that Eldar fanboys, for whatever reason, decide to be just as whiny and undeservedly arrogant as their in-game faction is in the background.

  2. First couple times I went up against Eldar I was not a happy camper, but once you get a reasonable loadout, they really don't seem as tough a fight as they did when I started out.

Do I think they are in a good place ? No, not really but do I think they need to be nerfed into the ground ? No, I think a little light "tweaking" would do the job.

Nerfing their toughness wouldn't completely solve the problem, although I am ticked that it takes me 4-5 clean Power Axe blows when their Striking Scorpions and Warlocks can down me with 1 or 2. Their increased mobility and decreased hitboxes makes up for most of it. Toughness and Armor mean jack sh*t if you are untouchable. The three other factions compete in who can take and reduce more damage in fights. The Eldar on the other hand don't reduce damage, they outright avoid it while still being capable of taking an axe to the face.

  4. I'd still rather see the armour and health of other factions boosted, rather than have the eldar nerfed. Maybe the amounts I suggested were too little and it should be more, or maybe not, but if we nerf the eldar hit points or armour they may no longer be fun to play. Whilst if other factions are buffed they will become more competitive by being tougher foes, but eldar will still be fun to play.
  5. I say nerf them back to pre patch 16

Orks should have the most health, but less armor than Space Marines. More than Eldar though. Of all the factions present, Eldar are beyond a shadow of a doubt the weakest physically. That's why they have powerful weapons, psychic abilities and move faster than everyone else.

Yes! Always wanted to say, that if someone wants to make gameplay lore accurate then why not make all them spess mehreens, spikeyz and panzees having a limited respawn attempts, let's say about 2 lives for each non-ork player. Why not make sm, csm, or eldar teams 10 times smaller than ork teams? Because lorewise, there is not that much of SM, CSM, and eldar comparing to orks, lorewise there is no such thing like space marines or eldars outnumbering orks, like at all.
So i completely agree with you, lore accuracy is a bullshit argument for op justification.

  8. The idea that Eldar are OP on TT means they should be OP in this game is laughable, it makes me sad to think anyone could actually think that is a valid argument.

Eldar have everything - speed, resilience and firepower.

One needs to be adjusted. They're not going to adjust three other factions when they can adjust one either, purely from a time perspective.

Prepare for your well deserved nerf.

  9. By improving the toughness of other factions we'll effectively be curtailing their firepower/damage. Plus, it would be nice to have space marines actually start to feel like space marines. Though i agree with your point that to nerf one faction is quicker to than to buff three factions, and it is the most likely, i hope they go by something closer to my avenue instead.

You're right we should nerf *everything* to the ground because Hunter's Mark is OP.

Still haven't even gotten that damn item from the chests...lol.
