  1. After making his farewells to the blacksmith, promising that if he returned they could make another lesson.
    Though in that one Thorkild did believe he also would do better, the two handed battle axe he now carried with him was strong, sharp and not too badly weighted, but it had its imperfections, Thorkild blamed it on him still not being able to make a totally normal stand since his hip haddent recovered yet, a broken bone was a bad thing for a road warrior, something he still was mad with Argot about.

    Though As Thorkild made his way towards the inn, he saw that most of the group was standing outside, though, the only other one not standing in the group was Baldur, as Thorkild closed in he saw that the norseman was dead, properly from the cold and weakening from his wounds, a poor way to go for a warrior to die in a cold night. Thorkild said nothing, mostly out of respect, Baldur had been a fine fighter and he had been one of the better members of the group.

    OOC can we count that Gunther already informed others about the task? Would save us a lot of time :D

    "We shall make a pyre for Baldur outside the village and send his spirit to the afterlife with all the warrior's honors he deserved, given the fact he fought admirably and with courage," Gunther exclaimed. Baldur was a norseman so the Warrior Priest didn't know much about their customs (and he didn't even want to know because half of them were vile chaos worshipers) but decided the funeral in flames was the best course of action.

    "Also, don't think of stealing his gear now that he is dead. He was a warrior and as such, he'll be sent off with his weapons included."

    With another miserable brush with the cold when it came to sleeping in the open, Sakeis was saddened but not surprised by the death of Baldur to cold and infection, with a wound like that the Norscan's chances of making it were.... Slim. Not wishing to disrespect the man, the Temple Guard held his silence, head bowed and hands with a firm grip on his weapon. Considering Baldur was someone that was actually decent at what he did, and didn't cause trouble like the Skaven or Argot, the Lizardman would sorely miss the poor guy, who went out in a depressingly mundane manner.

    "Right, right no loot for once...hims was useful. Sneek you now map master! Get map off Baldur then we do the burn-make and carry on with that thing Sakeis, Gunther and Malik talked about doing, the work make to find the things taken by pirate man-eaters or what ever they are. Farull you carry Baldur, Malik your burn Baldur. Baldur...." Argot looked at their fallen Norscan with a deep frown. "You uhh, try wake up before we burn you. "

    "Burn the man-thing?", Sneek asked, his voice and mood unusually subdued. He couldn't not stare at the dead body, couldn't really suppress the rising hunger while looking at it. "Why not eat it?", he continued, searching his body for the map. No, the Skaven couldn't care less about the dead Norscan, even if it meant one less body to hide behind, but he felt that his death would be a waste if they could not add him to their rations.

    "Nope, no eat him at all. Gunther say so we listen this time. " Sneek found the map quickly enough as Baldur had little in the way of containers on his person and soon the roll of parchment was in his clawed-grasp. Absolutely nothing could go wrong with a Skaven map reader right?

    (Sneek now has the Magical Map)

    "Um, okay, if the boss-thing says so", the rat mumbled in response, glancing at the priest responsible for this mess. He felt hungry, but not like he couldn't postpone eating for now. So, he conformed with a minimum of grumbling, while he stared at the roll of parchment.

    So the death of Baldur was not an entire waste! Already he was moving up in the Warriors of the World hierarchy. Just according to his plans...

    Sneek had to stop himself from malevolently laughing.

    OOC:Totally missed the last GM post;

    Arabyan was not looking forward to another night in the open,but it seemed the rest of the group caused much trouble in the inn...or so it seemed.On the morrow,when they found out that Baldur was actually dead,Vizier simply nodded as he tried to wake up the man,touching his face.With his advanced knowledge of Arabyan medicine and human anatomy,he asserted that Norscan was indeed dead,even tho a few bones were smashed,probably by the careless Ogre.

    As everyone made peace in their own way,Malik muttered under his breath a prayer to Usirian so that he may take care of the Norscan when he entered the Realm of the Dead;

    <Sometime later>

    With some help,Malik constructed funeral pyre outside of the village,giving warband some form of privacy in their mourning.Some seemed actually sad when this man died.
    As for Arabyan...he cared not.Baldur was apparently a good map reader...and Vizier treated him only once from spider-poison.Other then that...he did not knew the northerner,tho his loss will impact the warband`s performance,especially when his knowledge could be priceless the more then go north.
    That...and trusted the Skaven even less.Especially when the ratman eyes his scimitar;

    Hauling his body atop a rather modest pyre,Arabyan drew Baldur`s weapon,and placed it in the dead man`s grip,across his chest.Not really how they bury folk in Araby...but close enough.
    Satisfied with his work,Vizier checked his corpse for gold.Baldur was a warrior...armor and weapons he will need in the afterlife.
    Gold?Hardly.

    "Good idea Malik. Me take that. " Just as Araby plucked away a meager coin purse from Baldur's body Argot stepped up and snatched it away with superior strength, giving a firm nod of approval in regards to the vizier's intelligent call on the matter, even if he hadn't been sneaky enough about it to avoid drawing the dullard's attention. As they all stepped away and watched as Baldur was set to flame Man-Eater gave them approximately two minutes to enjoy the show before turning back toward an open alley out of the village. "Right den, onward to glory an gold-make!" Trudging through snow flooded streets of dirt they left Rossin and set off toward the coast! As ever snow storm raged with little care for those it fell over.

    A treacherous trek it would be as well for on top of braving more of the fatally cold weather they would be crossing open country side already purported to be stalked by roving bands of mutants and frost spawn. Even cultist rumored to be lurking among the lot like that persistent knife thrower that had attempted to sever Malik's own life threads in the midst of the storm. Yet now that they were actually prepared no assailants would present themselves through blinding flurry, group only reaching their first obstacle when they came upon a cliff edge and found themselves barely able to make out the very edge of a frozen shore.

    "So....where we start with the search make? " Argot turned his head slowly to look between the trio whom had picked up the job....and promptly neglected to even see -where- on the coast these corsairs might be. Before anyone could answer mother nature made sure to dollop on a nice big scoop of 'Go to Hell' as it turned out the 'cliff' was a particularly stiff collection of snow that gave once Farull ambled up alongside the other ogre. Several seconds of spinning visions and avalanche surfing later and the group was on sandy shore...at least there should be sand under all the snow.

    OOC:Just a note...Malik did not intend to steal the gold from Baldur`s corpse.It was pretty obvious what he was doing.

    The tumble down the slope was the most dangerous part of his journey.Not for the neck-breaking possibility,but the fatal off-chance that he might get crunched as one of the Ogres tumbled over him.Luckily that was not the case,and as he smacked his robe and backpack free of snow he turned around,trying to orientate himself.
    This seemed like a shore...but there were no boats or caves in sight.No tell-tale sights of pirates of any kind.

    Keeping his counsel,lest the viscious ratman gets in this head that Arabyan is trying to usurp his position...Vizier hopped to his hand the gem,peering to it,increasing his visibility.
    With such eagle`s eye in these snowy days,he looked down the coast for any sights of the Nuln murder-machines or their current...owners.
