Voted Yes (for now). Like most are saying, lets get the game done, out there, and working. If everything goes to plan and its a success, larger worlds, more content etc can be added later.
This poll is broken. The thread title asks a different question to the poll question! And answering YES to the poll question is in fact NO to the thread title. Don't think you can take anything statistically significant away from the results.
well we still dont know what will hapPend after. They may release more planets more of everything. The gave havent even startet yet.Dont get to lift up for things that are posiblle only after a sucksessfull release.
Everyone answering that having a bunch of planets with no one on them would suck and dilute the game. Are looking at the idea wrong. You only fight on planets. The only thing anyone would see on a non-homeworld planet would be a battleground trying to take that planet from the current controller and maybe some type of defensive interface. This game should be named different because the eternal crusade is for conquest of the galaxy not for a single planet.
See the way this game should be done is just like a tabletop miniature games but fought from the 3d point of view. You create a game engine that randomly chooses terrain pieces based on the planets current inhabitants so that you dont really ever have the same map over and over. Your guild plays your army list and you duke it out over a planet. Then you move on. and actually fight for control of the universe. a guild of 1000 people could easy fill out a space marine chapter or wahghh however its spelled. Have any of you played Space Marine Multiplayer??? Thats all this is gonna be with other playable races. If you want a preview of what they want to do here (albeit with different graphics and engine) go play space marine multiplayer. There is no levels, only stat keeping. Let me know how long you plan on playing it and then tell me how far this game will go and if they went big enough.
Its not size its lore.....I guess im gonna shut up now as someone in this thread pointed out. If this MMO does good maybe my idea will come into fruition someday.
Thats exactly what i want. I want to be able to trek terrain fight for "points" exactly, EXACTLY like Space marine. The part in bold is exactly what i dont want. I do not want what the table top game already is. The table top is perfect for its setting. it brings REAL life people into a room and battle it out, it creates good memories and a good mood to be with others. In a video game world i want to be immersed in what i imagine the BATTLE will be like from the perspective of a soldier. If they can create honest reasons of why to take a base or point over and over that would be great. You are also assuming the game will be based on "stat keeping". Without actual gameplay you cannot state that as a fact but in fact just on OPINION on a game you havent seen or played yet. On the naming of the game. I like it. You are also incorrect. It is neither ALL encompassing of what the game is and neither is it in incorrect. Read another way, the title of a game doesnt have to PERFECTLY match what the game is. Your wish for all encompassing game where this game exactly copies the tabletop shows me that you dont realize the scope of the game already and what can be added to a game later.
@OP I love your vision for the full game. For development purposes over-scoping can really kill a project, so I'd like to see them to start with what they're planning currently - get those systems nailed down and polished first. Once that's all good and fun then it would be awesome to expand that onto the scale you're talking about.
