I feels it's a great place to start and introduce the WH universe to people that no nothing about it and such. From there well.....the multiverse's the limit :)

The thing is, the 40K IP is SO MASSIVE that no matter what they did people would simply complain about what they couldn't fit in. What we have here is a game that's firstly trying to venture into the MMO aspect of the 40K setting, and to keep the visciousness of having four factions fight against eachother. Player-driven PvP in a nutshell.

While the EvE model would've been very interesting to see adapted to 40K, I'd rather they hit home with this game and pave the way for either additions, or other games in the universe. It's not like Warhammer is one of the most well known settings out there ( Despite having a big track record in gaming ).

I thought they talked about fighting over 1 planet at a time thru a rotation system that could last from 2weeks to 3months. You were in a system with many planets, but locked to only fight on one at any given time.

I was going to mention something about a 40k EVE-esque game, but after reading this I am at critical mass levels of hype.

    You're killing me.

and now you have basically opened the door of the webway to all the hyped monkeys like me.
I love you and hate you at the same time.
  8. I should be clear- It's one planet. Our apologies if you were hoping for a more galactic game.

That being said, I'm crunching the numbers now, and I don't think anyone will be disappointed where size is concerned.

This thread is abit too previous... If in 18months after launch we are still doing the same thing over and over again on the same planet... with out having anything new or exciting added or an expansion. Then yea i'd agree with you.... But with what, 2 years before the game has launched, before anything has been seen, people are already questioning the scope of the game?

Really? C'mon mate! For now it is enough!

Repost this in 3-4 years time.... well hopefully you won't need too ;)

Yep, and having multiple planets would strain out the player population, not to forget EVE and warhammer 40k in terms of fighting is very different.

    "
We should get awesome bonuses and access to bigger and badder weapons the more forge worlds and population centers and other strategic planets we hold. We should be able to use chapter resouces to build defenses and fleets and weapons and armor." Stuff like this would backfire in dramatic inbalance, I understand your concerns Convarion, but you gotta be realistic about what works in a game about the WH40K world, it just simply isnt the same as EVE.
