Do you get XP while dead or downed?

  1. Good to know I have always the bad habit to die when a point is almost captured =P.

You absolutely can and it's been this way for quite some time (well before Release, anyway). Your body must be within 50 meters of the capture point to receive credit, doesn't matter if you've released or are still sitting in the 'death-cam' of your corpse. That's within 50 meters of 3D space around the point. You don't have to be in the same room or in the capture point in some cases so long as it's closer than 50 meters.

I'm pretty certain the only thing that matters is the location that you die, not the location of your body post-mortem. I've seen my body get thrown 50 meters away after being exploded, but I still received credit.
  6. The "tell" that you'll get XP is that when you're alive while the cap is happening (or anytime if you're on defense) bottom middle of your screen will have a bar pop up with the progress.

Pretty much this, I've been watching for exp gains for these specific instances as well just a day ago.
