I know how you feel, what with all the asshats, trolls, team killers, and otherwise useless twats with nothing more than a single cell for a brain, but if you think about it, all Orks are supposed to be like that. Just look at 80% of the players now. They run in blind, shooting everyone and everything regardless of teamwork, they bicker if they have time, refuse to revive you if your down, can't seem to hit a moving target if their life depended on it (which it does) and seem to love close range combat. Sounds like an ork to me. All we are missing is an endless tide of noobs and trolls and our faction is complete.
Going back a few pages I think that the reason we get a random warboss may be because they are ork fans. They can't really make it ghazzy since he is doing other things. Also compared to other factions we have many more leaders in our lore. Plus I think it will be neat since they made the character up they can have it do whatever they want which fits the faction perfectly instead of having a profile already set up for it. I personally like that we get our own unique guy. I would rather have them put the thought into it to create him instead of grabbing someone else's character. Also I know we lose a lot in the books as well but so far in the two I'm reading now the orks are winning. The one they beat iron warriors and the other is Armageddon where we definitely win. Also I agree with the idea of if rapid fire weapons are OP then nobody will ever get close to the orks. Personally I hope our equipment keeps some randomness. I want my rokkit pack to send me corkscrewing through the air not landing precisely. Also to get our painboyz to revive us they should be able to buy an item or something to transplant limbs just for encouragement. I'd be ok with having a squig head.
And Abbadon isn't doing something elsewhere in the setting? Anyway, I'm not so bummed out about getting a new, unique character - I'm bummed out about the fact that our new, unique character has precisely one character trait, and that's "Kills Space Wolves", which means that his entire character is build around Space Marines - Can't we for f**ks sake get a character who at least has his own personality, without having him being a simple Space Marine enemy?! And I know Orks do win a select number of fights in fiction, but that's not what I mean - What I mean is that us, the Ork fans, don't get the kind of credit that the other factions do, and consistently considered to just accept a place as the dogs to kick.
Don't forget that all factions will get sub bozz chars And most of them will be invented by bE And skarblitz is kinda cool I just dislike his antlers :O
Don't ask for much from Orks. They are literally driven by the simplest reasoning. Even mak Thrakka is driven by the basic instinct to Waaagh. He's a clever tactician, but his motivation is fairly straightforward. As for the narrative, the #1 GW narrative rule is "Everyone is the hero of their own story". The problem is 80% of the literature is written from Imperial viewpoints
It's not how effective we are in the fluff that bothers me (we could lose every fight if it came to me), it's the fact that we, as players and fans of Orks, for some reason get less credit than Space Marine fans, or Eldar fans. I've been in several discussions with people on this forum, who don't take me serious, because I'm an Ork fan. Because, you know, Orks don't care about having a rough time, so of course I, a player, don't as well. /Sarcasm
like we said earlier just ignore em they aint worth shit, and those that claim that probly dont know shit about EC or lore anyways
It's dick waving. I wouldn't worry about it. I'm a floater myself, and have no real allegiance to any of the factions. EXCEPT FOR MY DEEP HATRED OF ELLLLLVEEEES.
I wouldnt look at it as a bad thing. Would you rather not play and them make your race look good and balanced ? or Would you rather have a bad model, animation, balance and have a poor experience ? - Orks will get hooked up. DO have faith in them. Remember they want Orks in more then the customer. Its s business, they want to get this done right, but with some speed as well. Trust me, they will not fall through and will deliver.
