I am not saying they weren't right, but only that the Inquisition usually removes the evidence of Grey Knights And yes, the Space Wolves are surprisingly good against humans (chaos = non-humans), a bit like the Salamanders and Celestial Lions. Anyhow, doesn't the Space Wolves also have a rather bad relationship with the Adeptus Mechanicus? They do not treat their mechanical items the "right" way, e.g. as well as the others do, and they did insult them a bit by re-inventing the Predator Annihilator Pattern (Twin-Linked Lascannon). Btw, is you avatar a picture of Vash the Stampede? It kinda looks like him.
They do, with good reasons, but bad attitude They respect the "normal" human for standing against the enemy without geneseed, powerarmor and superior weapons. I wouldn't run around in Eternal Crusade as a guardsman I dont' know exactly... the forges of the Fang are really huge and powerful. The cruzium weapons of the wolf priests are also weapons from the mechanicum, for refusing the religion of the Ecclesiarchy. I don't know the predator problem. Yes he is, the one and only Love and Piece
not only space wolves and salamanders would risk their lives to save humans (to save shitload of my time i took this from the wiki) "The Astartes are physically stronger, far more resilient and often mentally far removed from the lot of most normal human beings. In the presence of the Astartes, most people feel a combination of awe and fear, and many cultures on the more primitive worlds simply worship them outright as demigods or angels of the God-Emperor made flesh. They should feel so, for many Space Marines feel little compassion for those they have sometimes termed "mortals" in comparison to themselves, seeing the very people they were created to protect as little more than obstacles to a more efficient eradication of the Imperium's enemies. This is an attitude sometimes taken by whole Chapters. They see normal humans as frail, weak creatures given to the follies of temptation, avarice, greed, lust and cowardice -- all emotions they rarely feel, if ever. Yet there are some Astartes who remember why they were created by the Emperor, who avoid the trap of hubris which the Space Marines are so prone to and which has seduced so many of their number to serve the Ruinous Powers of Chaos. They are the final guardians ofMankind, the saviours of last resort. They were intended not to lead humanity, but to defend it, sometimes even from itself. At the heart of that mission lies the limitless compassion the Emperor extended to every man and woman in the galaxy when he willingly chose to condemn himself to more than 10,000 years of imprisonment within a dying prison of flesh for their sake. Some Astartes sneer at compassion, seeing it as one more human weakness that has been purged from their superior bodies and minds. But the wisest of the Space Marines know that in the end compassion is their only salvation, as it is for all men. In that, they have proven themselves to be fully human." there are some space marines in various chapters that fight for humans here are few Ex:- Captain Uriel Ventris - Ultramarines lord commander Dante -Blood Angels Thaddeus -Blood Ravens
Salamanders do the complete opposite so in a book they go out of their way to aid small children and others that might be defenseless.
Well, i'm sure that some zealous shithead Black templar just literally DONT GIVE A FUCK about childrens and civilians safety. But some chapters as Ultramarines and Salamanders will care about them very much. The one of many reasons i like Ultramarines is theirs humanity. And they remember that theirs main purpose is protecting mankind, Ultramarines and Salamanders dont look on regular human haughtily.
There are many space marine chapters that I can name off of the top of my head that are ruthless and without mercy for all. These chapters would gladly slaughter a billion civilians if it meant furthering their cause of the destruction of the enemies of the God Emperor. Many of them, I have personally witnessed during the Badab War as being incredibly ruthless. There are the Carcharadons Astra; informally known by their title as the Reavers of the Outer Darkness. They are a chapter that plies their trade of death in the regions of space far beyond the God Emperor's Light. These marines have been known to gleefully slaughter civilians with chainaxe and sword. It is also quite notable that they are potential successors of the World Eaters legion. We also have the Minotaurs, who are unreasoning and ruthless. Many of my fellow chapter masters have long suspected that this chapter actually answers to the High Lords of Terra. The Modus Operandi of the Minotaurs is t drop their entire force directly into the strongholds of enemy formations, and engage them in brutal hand to hand combat. The Minotaurs will not stop their attacks until every living being in the operational zone is decidedly dead.
Well, they actually do disapprove heartily of killing innocents, during Armageddon for example, when the Marines Malevolent killed a ton of civvies along with the orks, both the Wolves and Salamanders were pissed
I don't make these out of an attempt to cause rifts between people of different factions. I first made it out of sheer curiosity, starting with Orks, then Eldar, and decided to finish it off with Chaos and Space Marines. I knew that none of these factions would be innocent, such as the way of Warhammer 40K. I'm new to the universe in a lore sense, and I wanted to get insight as to how each faction approaches the delicate subject of the innocent, and how they justify it.
Acknowledged. You seem to have good motives, I just have a bad taste in my mouth from reading the one on the Ork subforums. Also a bit of a touchy subject for me because of how my Marine Corps brothers-in-arms were treated after coming home from Vietnam.
