Diving into the issues between melee and ranged.

    I'm on my phone right now, so no, I didn't watch your videos.
    thing is: maybe it is intended that the PF is some kind of outside of the rps system, devs said that added a vulnerabilty window in the PF's heavy attack.
    I'm fine with these changes. PF was out of order for a long time, now it's a "certain situations" weapon - not a jack of all trades.
    that's a good thing, that's how balance works... and it gives other weapons a place (maces / axes).
    PF is mainly AV. So it should be meh in AP.

    Maybe i'm a bad melee player? And must play more than 400+hours pure melee. And must listen forum with lessons about "use pistol".

    Yeah having your bolter out should be a disadvantage, and this would give you two options, try to gun down melee before it gets to you or swap to pistol/knife as they get close so you can keep engaging with your gun after rolling. Or could still dbash n pistol/knife swap

    Were we playing the same game pre-patch? Obivously not because the balance between range and melee was much better than it is now. The two outliers that the majority were complaining about were JPA and Power Fists. Both of which are now addressed as they should of been.

    Range has been more killy than melee for quite awhile and the dev's stats prove that. So, why weren't melee whining about it before? Simple, we weren't getting torn up in our domain that's why!

    You're telling me that now I have to play extremely careful just to get into a 50/50 situation AT BEST while gunners get every advantage at all ranges? Boy, sounds like fun, in fact it's so fun why don't you go enjoy yourself while I go play something worth my time.

    Ground assaults are weak and barely useful right now. I can rack up kills and get things done but the whole time I'm playing I just think to myself, "If I was just playing shoota I would be ten times more useful right now". I wouldn't be getting shot up as much, I wouldn't be blocking shots for my team mates, and I could move around more freely.

    Never have I thought that before hand. Never have I thought that about any class before this patch even when melee was dominant. This is the worst balance has ever been between range and melee in my eyes.

    The time between doing melee and shooting with a non sidearm needs to be upped significantly. It's specifically obvious with a stalker bolter as you can squeeze of a devastating round in the smallest gap in the fighting (ie the attacker not constantly spamming fast attack with sword).

    We passed from a situation where melee was always on top of the killboard to another where common ranged guns have a clear and undeniable advantage.

    This is because they shortened TTK all across the board, but we still have the nerfed melee lunges and the long stun duration.
    Patch 1.3 basically fucked up months of the "so called" balancing.

    believe it or not I'm using more melee now than before 1.3.
    there is a place for those two weapon types despite their speed. And it still needs adjustments.
    but you and the others may go on crying about how broken melee is though it is not.
    you let it look like the melee-end-of-times patch all the way and instead of looking for slight adjustments, some of you get onto threads like this thinking/dreaming about gimping ranged melee capabilities by a large margin... complaining about imbalance and fighting it with imbalance - great solution...
    melee-only players are bias towards the patch as ranged-only where to most patches before... that does get us nowhere.
    cry more for the free-win-melee as long as you like. we have been there already - wasn't fun too (but mostly for ranged players).
    It's the same with the Stalker Bolter -everybody went nuts because of the scope toggle I'm against it too), but I can hardly see Stalker Bolters in the field...
    it has it's situations, but it won't win the match...
