I was thinking that as a progression feature you may sellect ammunition. I saw a similar thing in the eldar thread under gear altercations where he talked about different ammo. As we know Sternguard make great use of this (veterans) Dragonfire Bolts: These hollow shells explode with superheated gas, allowing them to bypass cover with ease. Hellfire Rounds: Replacing the bolt's explosive charge with needles of mutagenic acid, these were originally designed to combat Tyranids. Kraken Pattern Penetrator Rounds: Modified with an adamantine core and more propellant, Kraken Bolts have a longer range and better armour penetration. Vengeance Rounds: Employing unstable flux core technology which makes them hazardous to use, but superior at penetrating power armour. these were originally designed to combat Traitor Marines. So as a progression tool we should be able to choose ammo vs nids, orks etc. Correct ammo choices should provide different effects and bonus damage, espicelly if ur targeting areas on the enemies body lexicanum link http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Sternguard#.UnQ55Pnxr_w
I really want these bolts in the game, my end-game plan is to look like an Ultramarines Sternguard Vet, so i hope they add the different bolt ammunition and such into the game.
This is an ideal way to lure more hardcore gamers, however it's risky.Regular gamers or gamers new to MMOs might find this feature tedious probably.
These rounds would be good, but I think they should be restricted to certain missions where it is needed, or make it a cooldown skill, or even for higher level SM, as it could become a bit too OP. Plus how would it work for other factions?
