Did the developers lose their ability to use Pikko server or are they just going from 32-64 player lobby shooter> 100+ interconnected instanced Lobby shooter>Pikko server? Just a simple sentence of "yes, reasons" or "No, reasons" would be nice.
pikko server wasnt able to deliver what EC devs wanted so yes for now and the near future we will have to fight in instanced battlefields but the battlefields will get bigger by fusion different battlefields together until we have somewhat an openworld
Searching for Pikko server in google, all you really find is Eternal Crusade related. Articles saying "Pikko server is currently in beta with Eternal Crusade" and stuff like that. Personally, I'm assuming the technology was a flop until a game comes out using it. Their site tells me their "UnityPark suite" based on "record breaking technology" is used in several games and serving 14 million players a day, but it doesn't say what games use it... Their Man vs. Machine event (probably where the "record breaking" label comes from) is the only concrete thing I could find.
