The range/killing power is OP, if it was the lascannon getting me from up there I'd be ok with being killed at that distance, even a plasma cannon shot I'm fine with because I can dodge it easily enough. You can't dodge the hb even at that distance
Here suggestion for devs put Lock-on HB so it will be as useless as Lascannon, or even better let's put lock-on on every marine(both loyal and chaos) weapon so other factions one that uses more numbers to fight(orcs), and other that uses cunning tricks to fight(eldar) could feel themselfs on equal footing in head on. Orks should be weaker than other factions but have more players on field, and eldar should have other ways to win other than head on fight, but since it's "gameplay"(ignoring fact that there may more ways to deliver good gameplay) >lore, or more like gamer's ego > lore, we stuck to this.
Melee has *only* dominated in patch 19. All prior patches have been *mostly* in favour of Ranged due to Melee hit detection fail and other netcoding errors / FPS / Latency issues affecting Melee only due to the close quarters required for hits to land. Yes, Ranged is complete bollocks and has been for a long ass time *mostly because more people play Ranged than Melee, the most kills being performed by the standard bolter by a long shot which was stated in one of the twitch's meta data reports* and we have to keep the larger community happy after all because $$$. (that health / armour / toughness discrepency for ONLY JPA was complete bollocks too. But it was good for me as it trained me not to expect to live longer than an 8th of a second) Don't get me wrong I'm loving it, I just had an operation on my WSAD hand so I cant get the same hair trigger agility required to be effective in Melee any more (at this stage, maybe a month or two till I'm back to normal) So until further notice, hunkering down on a point and just aiming and shooting with LMB on my right hand is working really well. I barely even have to try, just aim with lazer point accuracy + LMB and I'm good. And that's not just with the HB, its with all ranged attacks. If Melee was allowed to be this accurate the forums would burn, but because its only affecting Ranged there's nothing wrong ofcause. lol. Is what it is. It will either be reigned back in or it wont and will end up alienating a significant portion of the community and nobody will play Melee. Unless that's the plan, to create just another brainless shooter.
None of the other weapons I've played have the killing ability of the hb right now, which ones are you using that are that accurate like the screenshot I posted above? Maybe a bolter with a scope, but even that doesn't hit as hard as the hb

The best way to balance things out is to increase charging speed on lasguns, zzap guns while slightly decreasing their damage to the vehicles. Lasguns and zzap guns however should still oneshot any infantry class.
Riddle me this: What is it about an ork that somehow makes them weaker than Space Marines? Trick question: Orks vary in strength. There is no way of knowing how well they preform as individuals because they vary in strength and training and experience. Size is merely the general indication of strength, but a boy could have enough training or experience to take down a Space Marine. We could make the excuse that the Orks on Orkhona are elite orks or bigger orks that can compete with Space Marines, but of course you wouldn't be able to reenact your Space Marine power fantasies so why would you want that? Just make Orks Cannon Fodder so that you can jerk your loyalist dick right off when you kill a thousand orks with your bare hands not happening dude. I'm not trying to be rude but I'm sick of hearing this. I don't want to be Cannon Fodder. Nobody does. That isn't fun. So yeah, make me an elite ork, have me compete with Space Marines... Because then I won't just be a means to make the other races feel better about themselves. We are basically cannon fodder in this first implementation: unless you're melee, you don't do well until you're in a group as an Ork.
