The heavy bolter is cool and all and a good defensive weapon but the spread of the bullets are too big.
    Make them cluster more.

    Again..... Reference:"40k Space Marines".

Hip, aiming, bracing or just in general?
  3. Everyone would play heavy bolter if the aim was perfect. It's a support weapon designed to suppress not snipe. Crouching while shooting increases accuracy significantly at the cost of being a fat duck.

The lack of a belt feed is keeping me from enjoying the heavy bolter:rolleyes:

No, I kid I think suppression is too potent right now but the heavy bolter itself isn't a very good weapon. I says more damage per shot and start the suppression off at a low value and have it ramp up other than just "boom, can't hit shit."

I also think the damage of the heavy bolter is too low. I mean, it might be lag or something but it feels like it does much less damage than a regular bolter. I like the feel of the weapon itself but I never use it simply because the plasma canon is a far superior weapon in every possible situation. Much more damage, more accuracy, no wind-up time, aoe and anti-vehicule.

Supression might become reaaaally good when defending a fortress though so it might not be fair to judge the weapon in the current state of the game.

This has also been brought up already in the Eldar forum, but Suppression will also become more useful when Eldar and Orks get brought into the game.

Right up until orks get armor accesories to ignore suppresion.

Why would Suppression be better on Orks and Eldar? It's not like Orks have powerful and accurate guns to begin with

No in it's current state it functions like that. BE said they want it to be the best anti infantry weapon Dev's have access to and moving across an open area while being shot at by one should be borderline suicide and require tons of people thrown at it or outflanked. In lore SM scouts will bring them to provide covering fore for snipers because it's one of the only guns that have the same range as snipers. They are supposed to obliterate infantry from long medium to long range.
