Haha I'm not even hopeful, I just realized my story isn't very original but I don't care, I'm glad it's out there!:D
I just saw on Twitter that Mr. McNeill is about halfway through the entries as well.

It would be great simply to be in the top 20, that would be such a confidence boost :). Hopefully we get to find out soon!

    Another message from Graham! :)

“I expected a high standard from the finalists in the fiction competition, but from the first story I read I knew it was going to be tough to decide on just three winners. I expected to read them and have the winners be pretty obvious, but the very first story set the bar high, so I’ve set out four standards by which to judge the stories; originality, technical skill, faithfulness to the 40k lore and a final, Wow! factor that makes me sit up and take notice. All the scores so far have been high, very high, so the three winning stories are going to be very special indeed.”
  4. Come on McNeil bring us the results!!!!!!

Seriously though, just being on the top 20 would be awesome indeed
  5. The original tweet:

"About halfway through the entries for the @40kcrusade competition entries. Outcasts, Hertetics[sic] and Xenos are showing strong. Great work!"

  7. Much as i'd like to see that, given he's one of Black Library's main writers it's unlikely he'd have the time to truly give any in depth feedback or properly assemble a list. Personally i'll just be happy to see what's picked out as the final three and, if he has the time, perhaps a couple of paragraphs detailing why he selected them.

  8. True ? This is a good sign : there were many Xenoss in my short story !

    ¤¤¤

Vrai ? C'est plutôt bon signe : il y avait beaucoup de Xénos dans ma nouvelle !

It would be nice, yes. He may not be the time to do more, after all. It's bad that it considers our stories !

    ¤¤¤

Ca serait bien, oui. Il n'a peut-être pas le temps de faire plus, après tout. C'est déjà bien qu'il juge nos histoires !

  9. Heh...my dear Killbo, if you're going to necro a post from 8 pages back about getting feedback from Graham, at least quote the correct person. :p

I expect we might get some comments about what he particularly liked about each the top 3 stories, and what made him select the winner. Although it might be a variation of "I judged based on my four categories, this one knocked the ball out of the park with all four, nuff said. Now, on to the prizes - first prize is a signed copy of Matt Ward's memoirs as a Games Workshop lore-writer. Second prize is two signed copies of Matt Ward's memoirs as a Games Workshop lore-writer, etc. etc."
  10. Now, I wasn't going to say anything, but...notice how he didn't mention the loyalist marines?

Quiver in fear, submitters of Ultramarine fan fiction*!

*Don't worry, sons of Guilliman. I'm sure its just that you're in the half of stories he hasn't read yet. ;)
