Ill preface this by saying i play all factions (except orks really sorry greenskins ) and for me, the biggest advantage to playing eldar is having a default melta gun+ meltabomb load out as a preset. this greatly limits the other factions espeically new players who dont own an AV weapon yet, and even those that do need to dedicate a loadout slot to AV where as eldar players dont. This leaves the eldar side with every member having Good AV but the othersides potentially not. I think there should be a default AV loadout for each faction with a meltagun (or rokkit) and melta bomb to help even this out. OR make the preset load outs editable and start all factions with the meltagun/rokkit by default, with how important vehicles and their destruction is in the game currently, i feel this is sorely needed for the other 3 factions.
They said on a dev stream(I think to one two weeks ago) about ramming up loadouts to 7, this means Eldar can use every class as a custom loadout but it also means everyone can have an AV loadout if they did. I wouldn't mind having one on all factions but only just because of newer players, they should have a chance for AV since that's where the exp is at, bear bones like melta bomb and melta gun/rokkit or just a las cannon. Personally the default loadout has no value to me, it has no armour and lacks the double melta bomb, master crafted fusion gun and the seeker knife.
Paraphrasing from the twitch... When they are done re-working the LP and AP systems, they want to have loadouts that you can start editing at rank 1, as soon as you start unlocking gear. As part of that, they will get rid of the current default sets and give us "approximately 7, maybe more" additional loadout slots in their place.
Nope. In fact, presets are going away. They will be base rank 1 battle loudouts and THEN you'll be able to edit them, but we'll have like 7 battle loudouts then.
I'd like it if every faction had access to their lascannon/zzap deffgun/reaper launcher in a default loadout. It really is a basic weapon that should be available alongside the HB/DD/SC.
It wouldn't even be necessary if tank combat wasn't garbage that does nothing to actually combat the enemy tanks. I'd also nerf Melta Bombs and buff everything else that can damage a tank, so that having the bombs is a boon, rather than a requirement, for effective tank-busting.
What!? Making Lascannons actually do good damage to vehicles? That's not how Lascannons work at all, their primary function is to kill infantry and to snipe quads. Their secondary function is to shoot at vehicles 10 times and still not kill them. DUHHHH! /s
