South ('Right') Side - Lone Templar "Bitch please." Athenallas snarled at the eldar when she appeared, tuning out her words and dismissing them as the empty posturings they were. Centering himself, letting rage control his movements, the Black Templar lifted his bolt pistol and opened fire, his free hand reaching down to grab a frag grenade and arm it. "Curse my Timing" Regos said as he continued moving he had to get to the defense force and help reinforce there upper part of the building to support the troops. Charging forward he decided to activate his jump pack in a desperate attempt to soar over the eldar forces and make it into the building.
"Brother Silva!" Farith roared over the fighting, "you and I must take the fight to the Eldar who assault our position." With that Ormand began to fire upon the banshees with his plasma gun using a helium flask. It may be difficult to take on so many aspect warriors with just two astartes, but it would have to work he thought as he pulled the pin on his frag grenade and sent int soaring as well. ~~ Barnassus Campaign - Battle of Ladimur - Overall Battle ~~ Still struggling the mankind forces were now on full holding position. At least the enemies that made for the buildings apparently were not exactly climbing them, but remained in the streets. It appeared they only wanted the cover of the tall buildings, not so much attacking through them but having the ability to scramble if they required, almost as if they expected a titan to pop up somewhere and assault them. But that is when the counter-assault went actually into full gears. On all fronts the Eldar started to push forward relentlessly and without fear, knowing that they can only survive if they kill the enemy before they are being killed... ~~ Barnassus Campaign - Battle of Ladimur - DW Thunderhawk ~~ @TechCaptain | @matt23 | @Keidivh The Thunderhawk closed in, still in most ideal route to annihilate the enemy. Dorsal Cannon and Bolters had clean shots, but with the enemies mostly covering pressed against the borders of the street where the buildings stood they really only had perfect shots on the tanks. OOC: You are now in attack range. ~~ Barnassus Campaign - Battle of Ladimur - North ('Left') Side ~~ @lord-watchman | @EvicusDasan1 Farith shot with the typical deathly precision of a Dark Angel, but the Banshees move far too quick and are in their element, he barely hit on in the shoulder, letting the plasma ball burn down the plasteel wall behind the Eldar group. The weapon threatened to go into overheat, but the special Helium gas prevented it from doing so. His grenade did better, as it landed right in the middle of the Dire Avengers, killing one who found himself cornered against a wall and almost killing a second, barely alive thanks of his Wraithbone armor. Their kind seemed to care little and simply continued their attack. The Banshees already got into melee range and pushed the Astartes back, only being halted briefly as the Librarian unleashed fire from his very lips and incinerating a Banshee that attempted to strike him down, misshaping the alien's helmet and cooking the brain inside with the unnatural flames of the Immaterium while the others suffered continuous burns on their armor, even with the flames having disappeared, the heat still clung on their armor. The retaliation was harsh as the Astartes lacked an Assault Marine like Claudius or Zuriel and they slashed their blades into their armor, gashing blood out of both Farith and Silva as the power blades pierced their armor. The humans did not intervene and continued fire on the enemy below, but with the Banshees pushing the Astartes back, the Fire Dragons and Dire Avengers made their way upstairs and started to shoot them down, killing roughly 20 on the spot. Either through death by streams of shuriken or the merciless Meltas of the Fire Dragons. But he did only chip a chunk of Wraithbone Armor of the Aspect Warrior before forced to leap to the side to evade the Meltagun-revenge. His troops were basically being slaughtered as the Banshees danced their act of death with their blades through the Penal Legionnaires, while Dire Avengers shredded half a dozen Skitarii with their Shuriken weapons. The Fire Dragons just arrived to the party and had to be careful to not hurt their allies which restricted their use of weapons quite a bit. It was to Regos now to turn this skirmish around, but how? All by himself? The only good thing about the situation was that the heavy weapons nests still were armed and firing on the enemy convoy below in the streets. It was either his mere talent and hard training as one of Dorn's finest, or mayhaps his eternal hatred for this double-foe. Being not just an Alien, but also a Witch! With swiftness his Bolt Pistl was drawn and shot towards the Warlock as she rushed toward him. She proceeded to get closer anyway, even after he timed a grenade and threw it right at her. With a swift rotation she evaded most of the grenade, but was hit in her back nonetheless, right as she made her melee attack. It was sloppy due to the shockwave of the grenade's detonation. A strong thrust forwards what usually would had been twice as fast, was gladly absorbed by Athenallas' armor as it pierced the side of his body, doing no life threatening damage as even the Larraman cells clotted him right back up where the sharp, warp-infused blade did puncture his armor and drew blood. The Black Templar used the sloppy move of the Eldar to give her first a kick to the knee and then an uppercut of righteousness, sending her flying through the air with the power of his bionic arm. The Warlock made a somersault as she flew and landed on her feet, rubbing the blood off her lips before licking it off. "I may have underestimated your skills as a Warrior, but we shall see if you can fight the powers of the Warp!" She started to chant a spell.... While he worried about his teammates there still was no sign of the Dark Angels, at least Zorg was reliable as his troops opened fire for the next barrage. However, the full might of the Eldar force became real now. Skidding Shadow Spectres levitating slightly above ground started to move-in to their position in zig-zag, four squads of three each. Each squad focused their shots and timed them so they would meet mid-air, fuse and then hit their target. Their aims were the Leman Russ tanks which were luckily dug in with barricades built in front of them, so that only one got killed, while the others suffered superficial damage. But before getting too close into Las-Rifle range, they turned around and readied for the next approach. All while the Shining Spears were now heading into Tellon's position with full speed ahead, aided by the concentrated heavy fire of the Wave Serpents. Some who popped their heads out died immediately. One of the Las-Cannon teams got killed but swiftly replaced with two other eager Legionnaires. The losses were reasonable so far, but Tellon knew that once the jetbikes were upon them, they would have to deal with long-range and close combat quarter. And even worse would be if those lance-wielding jetbike riders would drop explosives amongst them or deploy other Alien-devices. The shields in the distance still held from the heavy barrage, Alderson and allies could not come soon enough... Farith silently backed up away from the Xenos and fired again using Helium once more. This fight was desperate and thus called for desperate measures. Priming his one plasma grenade he did the same as last time and threw it at the vile Eldar while muttering Calibanite litanies. OOC: another plasma shot at the banshees using helium! and a plasma grenade at the dire avengers! KILL THEM ALL WITH PLASMA!!!!
