~~ Search Party ~~ @seabass | @EvicusDasan1 | @matt23 | @Keidivh | @TechCaptain | @Vulpas | @lord-watchman Everything else in the rubble was just corpses. Four more Shadow Spectres were found, only one of them actually had his entire body left. The other three lacked at least one limb. One even was just torso and head. Each of their stones on their chest glowed dimly. Their armor shimmered in the moonlight, alternating between teal and light green. And the soulstones on their chest was the 'eye' piece of a rune that was inscribed on their armors. It looked menacing to some degree, almost as if it dared them to take the stone, but would they dare, a curse may come upon them. Which of course would Zuriel at this point already make afflicted. But there was no trace of Athenallas. The casing of the Concussion grenade being used here was recovered, but that was all that even pointed to the fact that he had been here.
Tellon's instincts could only tell him the same thing, unless Brother Silva could use his psychic powers to further their search, the trail was cold from here. "Nothing else is left, Not even a Corpse, besides the ones of our foe." Tellon just had to accept it, Athenallas was probably beyond their reach for now. "We'll take a few more minutes to search, but We will have to report back to our HQ soon."
Zuriel let out a disheartened sigh, disappointed they hit a dead end. He sat for a moment, taking the gem he found earlier, quietly observing it. There was something strange about, he thought he could see something dancing within it. He pocketed the Jewel once more, thinking how he could display it. He stood and approached Tellon, "Let us go brother, there is nothing left for us here.."
Tellon nodded and called out to the rest of the astartes, "We return to the Warhound, Lets move out." The group quietly moved back across the bridge, where the massive machine still watched over.
Farith nodded to Tellon, it was a good call. Athenellas was indeed out of their reach and now all they could do is wait for his return.
Barnassus - Wasteland Athenallas was quiet and unmoving as the skirmish continued. If any of the wretched servitors survived he would ensure that they went to the front line, to earn their redemption through service against the enemies of Man.
~~ Barnassus - Wasteland ~~ The Servitors stood resilient. But the Sabertooth monster leaped forwards, smashing one with his mere weight before sticking his tooth into another Servitor and slam him around. The remaining three lunged forward to kill the beast, having taken pointy pieces of their fallen kind to stab the creature. One was smashed to pulp from the mighty claw. The remaining two were capable of ramming the limbs of their mutant-brothers and sisters into the neck, piercing the throat and letting the monster die in pure agony as air kept escaping it while blood flowing freely in it's mouth until it eventually dropped dead. One male and female mutant-servitor remained to lead Athenallas back to the Forge-City... Combat Summary: Spoiler Sabertooth-Lion-Tiger-Thing - 3 hits => Servitor Mutants - 2/12 WL (2 hits) Servitor Mutants - 2/12 WL - 2 hits => Sabertooth-Lion-Tiger-Thing - Dead OOC - Ally Status: Servitor Mutants - 2/12 WL - 2 hits
Barnassus - Wasteland @Uriel1339 | Looming over the two surviving servitors Athenallas glanced at the dead beast. "You have done well and have displayed some of the courage the Emperor expects from us all. Your comrades have found their redemption..." Here Athenallas paused, the words he was using sounding too close to many used by the cultures vanquished in the Great Crusade. "...but you still have a way to go until you find peace in service to the Imperium. And so do I. It is time we moved on."
~~ Thirty Minutes Later (In total 1 hour since Search Team dispatched) - Warhound Titan HQ ~~ @seabass | @EvicusDasan1 | @matt23 | @Keidivh | @TechCaptain | @Vulpas | @lord-watchman | @Avenging-Angel Even after entering the city Athenallas' vox system was still compromised, it must had gotten damaged when the building collided. The rest of the team had been ordered to wait on the bridge of the titan until the interrogations were done. Interesting enough, Athenallas and Inquisitor Kane stepped into the room at the exact same time. There was a rust stain in 25 meters radius in the center of the bridge. All servitors' eyes turned on the companions of the Black Templar as they were hideous, very very very hideous wannabe Servitors. Feeling the looks of shame, the mutant-survivors looked down at their feet not daring to meet the gazes. A stream of lingua technis in unison by all, including the Fabricator Marshall was emit toward the mutants in a neverending loop. Nobody capable of understanding but Alderson, who was a Techmarine. Spoiler: Translation +++ You are sullied. You are unworthy. You must leave. +++
