<watchman> ye im fine with that <zacharius> Zacharius kept watch on the rear of the group "brother rollo il be the rear guard warn me if any xenos apear" as he spoke made sure the adepts were in position "lets get these adepts to the extraction point then move to the next objective"
<GM> Alright! <Narrative - Team Rollo> The way back, and considering the slightly slower speed of the Adepts versus the Astartes would make this take a bit longer, but ultimately perhaps a better solution, considering they indeed could stay later in the way or be killed once the Tyranids breach the watch station completely. Seven minutes of walking would be required to get to the landing pad. Six Minutes later... The shots in the distance became less and less, signs that the defense started to fall. One minute later... Both Astartes managed to get upstairs and see the craft already good to go. The Adepts went in the Thunderhawk in silence, except the last one who turned toward Rollo and Zacharias. "Please secure our master, and apologies for our uselessness..." Before reply could be made, the Adept entered the aircraft and it directly left the Astartes to their mission. From this position they could see that Tyranids were not just attacking from one direction. But that they were swarming the walls and that many guns simply ran out of ammo, instead of having been broken down. But the most interesting thing was south of their position. In the depth of the jungles they could see trees falling. Perhaps still around ten to fifteen minutes away. But it was coming, whatever it was, it was big. Though another thing that Rollo noticed was that there were no flying Tyranids. It was a full ground-focused assault, it seemed. <GM> So basically Team Khereph is still 10 minutes in the past versus Team Rollos current timeline.
<Colapse> Interesting. Ok, Watchman mate, decide what to do next since this is a joint operation Also, one question - is the big Tyranid coming our way, because it sounds like it is? If so, is it possible for me to set up a trap with my cluster mine pack?
<Team Khereph> The libaraian attempted to use his vox "This is Librarian Maverick of death watch To the adeptus mechanicus Does anyone read me I need a code for lab 2# to secure the weapons and research before the tyranids arrive." The librarian said into his vox
<watchman> main lab then as the others went to the lab 2 to get the weapons <zacharius> "Brother we must move to the rondevous point" as he spoke he looked around to see if any tyranids were near "its not normal for them to not be airborn"
<GM> That thing marches to the base, 10-15 minutes distance in current speed, may assume it walks ~30 meters per minute; therefor is roughly 300-450 meters away, but thick jungles block view on that thing. And of course you can lay the mines wherever you want. You could even give them to Zacharias and let him go with them and plant them <Team Khereph - 9 minutes in the past> "Has the Inquisitor finally sent you, yes? Well research itself is not in that lab, only an experimental weapon. What about my adepts, are they going to be secured as well, or are you just interested in weapons?" The Magos replied.
<Colapse> Also, I want to make 'Evaluate' action to check the walls of the base, how long will they stand etc. Also, I'll plant mines (spending 1 cluster mine pack) to the south of the landing pad to cover our retreat, if the big creature comes our way to eat us while we try to embark the Thunderhawk Once we start moving towards the main lab, if nothing else happens, I'm gonna run again. <Rollo> "Hmmm," Rollo sniffed the air, indeed - there were no airborn Tyranids around. "I don't like this. This smells as a trap. Give me a moment, I'll rejoin you shortly." Space Wolf moved to the south of their position and the landing pad, checking the walls of the base as he walked. Once he found the appropriate position, he took out a pack of cluster mines he requisitioned earlier and placed them in the possible direction of the incoming Tyranid attack. His idea was to try and deny the monsters this venue of attack once they breach the walls and head towards the extraction point of his team. This way, the Deathwatch team would at least be partially safe if the big Tyranid indeed makes his appearance.
<watchman> i agree with colapse about the cluster mines im wondering about if there is a way to set up one of my incindery grenades to go off in the same location as the cluster mine when it is set off <zacharius> "be prepared brother" as he spoke zacharius kept on watch as his brother prepared the cluster mine
<GM> @Colapse Concealment test for the mines. Agility 38 + 10 (because object is going to be standing still) => you must roll 48 or lower to succeed in hiding the mines. Also you need to apply a trigger; I assume you simply go for pressure rather than tripwire or such. Rolled 79. 3 degrees of failure. So yeah they are badly hidden, but hey at least they work! For the evaluate, see below. <Narrative Rollos Evaluate test> Rollo notices the south wall itself is in good status so far, considering it seems to be made with high quality materials, it will stand at least until the big creature arrives or other heavy weapons are brought in. Furthermore, the turrets on top of this wall are still shooting, the main hordes must come from other sides. -Tactics (Defensive Doctrine) hint - The enemy, especially Tyranids, could attempt to make the defenders think they focus on east, west and north, but in reality intend their heavy weapons breach through south, where at the point of arrival in usual situations the least defenders would be, due to the urge on the other sides. <GM> No. Only mines can be used as mines. Grenades are Grenades. I would give you benefit of the doubt if you would have demolition skills, then perhaps you could attempt doing that.
<Maverick> "WE have split up into two teams one to recover the adepts and the other to recover the weapon agiasn't tyranids By now I think the other team has recoverd your adepts." maverick said through his vox he attempted to raise the others <Vulpas> Can the others hear my vox transmission?
