<GM> Recap: Metaldog helps the Magos for a turn. Nid-Experimental weapon on the ground next to him. Angles takes the east, Vulpas takes the west. Colapse & Watchman are still 2 turns away. This means they will arrive after the first combat round has been resolved, which will happen... NOW! <Narrative> The Kill-Team prepared for worst. It was up to Caius to aid the Magos in data-retrieval and this could be truly a vital point for the entire operation to work out. <GM> Caius needs due to Difficult (-20) a 25 or lower to succeed... 13! That is 1 degree of success. 5 Turns remaining. <Narrative> The Techmarine managed to fill multiple Data-Slates with the various research information and would embrace himself soon for combat, or perhaps change his mind and further continue to aid the Magos? While the data-slates were filled, the Tyranids scythed their way into the room, but Maverick and Khereph would give little chance to them. Maverick grabbed his Bolt Pistol and unleashed the bolts (burst fire) into the Hormagaunts that attempted to get inside one after another through the whole they created. GM: Short Range is a +10; +40 Ballistic Skill; no penalties due to no sight problems. Spent 1 half turn (last turn) to aim; another +10 bonus for that. 60 or lower must be rolled to success; 3 shots: 44-72-64 => 1 hit. Damage location.... 15! Means you hit the right arm. Enemy cannot dodge because the Hormagaunts from the rear keep pushing the three that are crawling through the doors hole. Two Bolt Pistols hit into the door itself, doing no harm, but the third makes it way into the furious right claw of the first Hormagaunt, landing inside and detonating with such fury that the pain was overwhelming and it just fell dead. (2d10 = 7+4+5 => 16 damage; armor of 3; T bonus of 3 => -6 damage; 10 still applies; hormagaunt only has 9 wounds => dead; FIRST BLOOD!) Maverick could make a stand for now, but the horde behind those that tried to push through the little hole would show that it would be an intense fight if the hole would get bigger or the Tyranids would start managing to flood the room. Just like Khereph rose his Bolter and fired in full automatic mode upon them. Nothing was blocking the Apothecarys sight, neither would his emotions hold him back as the trigger was squeezed and four shots emitted toward the Hormagaunts. GM: Short Range - +10; +50 Ballistic Skill; Full Auto Burst - +20; But bonuses cannot exceed 60 so you need to roll 60 or lower to succeed; 4 shots: 26-47-79-6 => 3 hits; also you get 1 hit back because Full Auto Burst grants +1 hit per degree of success but cannot exceed the RoF. 4x2d10 +5 => 6+7+5=18; 2+6+5=13; 10+7+5=22; 4+5+5=14; Enemies can't dodge due to blocking one another. The first shot goes into the body: 18-3-3 => 12 damage and kills it. The other three hits split between the remaining two hormagaunts. The first shot: 13-3-3 => 7; The Hormagaunt received -7 wounds. The second shot kills it. And the last shot lands on the last Hormagaunt, 14-3-3 => -8 Wounds. The last survivnig Hormagaunt has 1 wound left. None would survive the anger of the Iron Hand, so it seemed. But the last Hormagaunt desired to not give up and continued on. Behind it, Khereph could hear and see already more of the gaunts emerging, their numbers undefined, but at least a small horde. <GM> If you want to use other attacks instead than what I described, let me know. I was merely assuming for the sake of saving time xD In future add what you attack with and how (i.e. single fire, burst, full-automatic, etc.) Also next turn (just when Rollo and Zacharias arrive) the 1/2 hormagaunts on each side will pop through the holes and start attacking in melee, also 3 more on each side will look out of the hole. Last but not least: The huge critter in the south is 8 minutes away. Enemies: East: 3 Hormagaunts (1) + 1 Horde Hormagaunts (# Unknown; at least ~30) West: 3 Hormagaunts (9/9) + 1 Horde Hormagaunts (# Unknown)
<Caius> "Success! How are you holding up Brothers!?" The Techmarine continued in his efforts to aid the Magos with the data transfer.
GM: You guys arrived now. Pick targets, or grab the weapon, or do something.... BUT DO SOMETHING! I assume Maverick & Khereph repeat their prior actions.
zacharius ran to Maverick and threw a incindery grenade down the hall (ooc if thats within the actions i can do)
<Colapse> Ok, perhaps not the best move, but I really want to see how this works Will attack those nids that are not fighting my bros in melee - basically pouring fire down the corridor. <Rollo> "Hold fast brothers, the flames of Fenris shall engulf the alien!" the Space Wolf growled and went toassist the Apothecary, pouring flames from his heavy weapon down the corridor from which the Tyranids are about to emerge.
