"Chaplain!" Noctis called still following behind him. When he turned Noctis tossed him his plasma pistol. "Thanks, but I think you may need this back."
When the lift finally hit first level, Varius made a message over comms, trying again to reach the rest of the squad. "Any Deathwatch members still alive in the facility, do you copy? What is your situation?" The Iron Hand stood by, vigilant for any threats approaching them.
Chaplain grabbed the pistol in midair, and mag-tied it to his leg. "Thanks for keeping it safe brother! Onwards!". Stevanus used his vox again "Brother Varius do you copy? You need to get out of there ASAP! Go for the extraction point! Double time! This place is rigged with explosives. You got 10 minutes. Stevanus out"
Knowing he had no time to reply, Varius grabbed the Iron Hands and the two begin making their way back to the elevator, trusting only in their memories to guide them as they made their way towards what they thought was the way back out of the facility.
The dynamic duo of Apothecary and Tactical Marine headed east-wards, finding no problem as the seals and doors seemed to working with the minimal power having returned, the temporarily complete outage most likely deactivating all lockdown mechanisms. Encountering no enemy, just as for the chaplain's team.
While they moved through the corridor, Chaplain noticed that Nathaniel is moving slower than before. "Wait. Let me check on him.". Stevanus stood next to his kinsment and examined his wounds. "This is bad, he is bleeding all over the place." A memory long forgotten came forth, as Stevanus removed his gauntlet, he told Noctis. "Hold him tight brother." Stevanus took out his combat knife, and cut himself deeply on the middle of his palm. Then he brought it to Blood Angel's lips, and rammed it in his mouth. "Drink brother, I do not carry Red Chalice, but this will have to do" OOC a technique that Sanguinary Priests use to help wounded Blood Angels he should be little better (move faster) after this
OOC: colapse, Aragon, Jester just 1 more post for each, then call it a day... Want to give Watchman and Cousin time to fulfill their dialogues etc.
Varius and the Iron Hands continue making their way to the elevator out of the base, looking for any sign of the other members of their team or enemies in their path.
OOC alright, let this be my final post then. When Hokken comes online he can write something about him feeling better anyway, we are going for the exit, so there's not much to do besides that. And ofc when you write that we reached it, we will wait with detonating it until everyone got their stories finished
