I'm just tired of people acting like this is a perfectly good game and the only reason people are hating on it is due to the 'open world' elements getting cut. For people in my position, who didn't pay into early access and only got into the game post-release, there's plenty of other reasons to be spiteful which have absolutely nothing to do with broken promises or cut content - But rather because they were charged $50 for a low-quality product with frustrating gameplay.
Unfortunately it took me far more than the allotted 2 hours to even try to make the game playable on my system. That's a major issue with Steam Refunds, they're supposed to be used in the case of "Game doesn't work" but if a game doesn't work than most people are going to try to fix it, which generally takes more than a couple hours.
It seemed less like he was just agreeing with the OP and more like he was telling everyone who disagreed with the OP that they were writing him off because people have been complaining about the game on the forums (this build at least) since Thursday. He also acted as if the opinions stated by the OP, whose main message is that capping is impossible due to defenders spawning on or near a point, were somehow facts. Game is rough, things are hard for everyone. We've had plenty of people shouting that the game is bad, that the devs lied and stole money in a cash grab. It's old. There are also those that defend the game as if it was their job to. They say (or said) it's Alpha, or that publishers forced a release (it's actually pretty clear Bamco did step on the gas despite the state of the game), and that everyone is a whiner. I was one of these people. I changed, I saw the game slow to a crawl and when release date was announced I was worried. But downvoting because of no open world or no free to waaagh is a waste of time. Upvoting because you want the game to be what it was promised or to artificially boost ratings is a waste of time. This game could be something amazing one day, but it isn't right now. It's average at best, unappealing at the worst. People who bought the game now paid a steep price, steeper than one would expect. Some are feeling a little stiffed. I would chalk this up to them feeling like they got an unfinished product (which they did) with no future. It's the no future part that gets me. You bought this game. You bought all it is and all it ever will be. There is no promise that the game you bought will ever be what you want it to be. What is promised though is that you, the person who paid $50, the person who put their money into an incomplete game, will not have to pay for anything they release. I slip back to my stalwart defender ways a bit in saying this, but you paid for what the game will be given time and effort. Game probably could have been released for $20 or $30 if they planned to charge you the free updates as DLC. In essence, you will probably get what you paid for, you just didn't get everything you paid for the moment you paid for it.
I hope you're right, and that this game evolves into something worth the price being asked for it. For the time being, though... It isn't. I can only voice my opinions based on the game I bought and can currently play. I'll continue to voice my displeasure until the game is in a state where I'm not longer displeased.
When and if that day comes I hope you'll stand up and speak out to the world that the game is finally where you want it to be. I feel too many reviews of the game from the early access phase will remain as they are. Old, angry, and left abandoned. Even if they stayed negative, they could still represent what we have now rather than what we had before.
Well, he got one point. As soon as enemys are near the spawnpoint, you shouldn't be able to spawn on top of said capture point. Right now you first have to clear out the enemys, bevor you can start decapping the point. If you don't you get shoot. But you can't shoot em all, cause they respawn at the point... and here we have a bad loop i guess... (Unless you plasmacannon cheese the spawn of course... have seen some shit)
I know you can spawn right on the capture point if the objective is safe, if it's contested it spawns you outside the facility. Might not be that way for all of them but I know it's that way for some of them and at the very least it should be that way for all of them to give the attackers a chance.
What?? OP you must be trolling about the points. Most games I have seen the attacker's win not the defenders so someone had to cliam the point for the attacker to win, hell on most skirmish maps defenders win either just by the skin of their teeth holding on to a point that the enemy has not claim yet. Or stop them from getting a signal point seems to be no in between. Attackers still win most of the time (I think I have seen only 4 or 5 games when the defenders won on a siege map). It ok not to like the game for any reason as it is your time and money put into the game. My recommendation would be don't play it then and either accept your losses and completely remove the game or wait for an update.
Patches this week still haven't fixed spawn system. Dead game. Wake me up when its actually playable. Impossible to attack currently unless you are against EXTREMELY bad players. Defending team immediately redeploys to wherever you are attacking. Melta guns just ruin vehicle play in this game period. Park rhino outside and immediately there is a melta gun running circles around it and you now have to wait another 2 mins or w/e for the vehicle respawn. Meanwhile he can deploy as many melta guns as he wants and redeploy to something else immediately with ZERO penalty for it. Also melee still broken piece of garbage which makes the spawn system unbearable. 5 JPA's spawn on your head, gg. LMB, LMB, LMB, LMB, LMB, LMB, LMB, LMB, LMB, LMB Melee is hard in this game, I understand. Such in-depth, much difficult, very skill.
