Kinda like how they thought poor accuracy would gimp rokkits enough and didn't expect us to learn how to maximize the weapons potential and nerfed it because we did?
I think Eldar do have room to grow in terms of wargear and mods if not weapons. For example: 1. Howling Banshee: A wargear or weapon mod to increase the travel distance of melee attacks 2. Scorpions: Mandiblaster which you activate using your shout key. Deals low continous shooting damage for a few seconds before going into cooldown and still lets you melee. 3. Fire Dragon: Fire pike, Fire axe, Flamethrower anti-infantry mod for fusion gun 4. Swooping Hawk: Pistol and melee weapon choices. Short-ranged high damage primary gun. 5. Reaper: Bright Lance. Wagear which the activated ability to see enemies through walls on a cooldown.
Yep, you'd have to be in a rather unique situation not to want to take a claw. I've seen mine do some crazy things, take down Carnifexes (8 Str 6 Ap 2 attacks lol) or wipe marine squads by himself. Love the bonus attacks challenge rule. I wonder what they'll do with the Claw, It could be a verrrry long time until we see it though, like you said bhvr puts a particularly high percent of their work into making the marine fanbase happy, for understandable reasons.
Before we give more toys to the Eldar and make them even more of a hassle than ever before...Consider the LSM not having any of their Librarians and being the most basic weak faction in the game at this moment...
I'd love to see a few Dark Eldar classes slip into the Eldar Playable faction... even if they were purchasable limited deployments. I'm really keen for Incubi to be a thing, athough my hopes are definitely not high. Maybe some day. I have pretty high hopes for 2H weapon. They would be silly not to eventually include two-handers. The thunder hammer, in the very least, is an extremely iconic weapon that is pretty well known even outside the usual fanbase thanks to other video games. Eldar, of course, are lacking spears and larger two-handed swords. Staves would also be amazing, both for Chaos and Eldar. I always imagined staves to be a sort of non-combat psychic-enhancing choice, where their durability and melee damage are much lower but they otherwise offer some awesome psychic power effects or bonuses.
Considering what is happening with the Aeldari, I'd say you have a half decent chance of getting your wish.
I am actually seriously hoping on that. I'm even Biel-Tan on my Eldar because I'm a sucker for the restore-the-Empire lore. The crossover offered by the fracture was such an exciting prospect for me. I know their license is limited to craftworld Eldar, but I really hope they can extend the license. I think making the existing factions more diverse is more likely than them making a whole new separate faction. Incubi of Ynnead pls pls pls pls pls
