If Dawn of War 3 turns out to be a good game (which I'm extremely confident that it won't) I'll actually publically apologise on the forums and the moderator will pin it, kay? And you can't judge this by the reviews on Steam but we'll do it in a way that, if the game doesn't look as cartoony as it is now, doesn't have corridor-like battles and is actually strategic and lore friendly and a better game than the last 2 in general, then I will.
Pretty sure DoW 2 was just a series of corridors for most of it, expansions included. Though I'll admit, watching the Emprah's Fury fleeing from a Baneblade across a jungle temple complex with Benny Hill music in the background was fun. Then you have certain builds like Khornate Eliphas who could be A-moved to the goal and safely ignored for the rest of the level or Heavy Bolter Diomedes with life-steal who effectively granted your army god-mode with a single A-move.
The game will be good for some people ,a blast for some others and a failure to some other group. There is no way in Tzeentchs labyrinths that they will be able to keep everyone happy. It is sad but that just how things are. Steam reviews are always crap,i never even notice the bloody things. As Hell Grunt mentions above DOW2 had its fair share of crappy corridor like maps (for campaign ,i think its safe to assume the same for DOW3). Dont forget Cyrus that could solo whole maps...
Did you see the Dow3 screenshots? By corridor terrain I really meant the fact that the terrain has literally no depth to it and is indeed in a striaght like whereas in DoW2 it's not. Dow1 either. Did you watch those videos?
I did, it seems to be all from the same map, likely a multiplayer map. We have no idea how big the maps or how diverse they will be in terms of biomes and geography. All we know is that there will be maps on the volcanic world of Acheron as well as inside orbital space stations.
