Shame, i don't care much for MOBA but it's sad news for the fans and people who were expecting this game.
They knew the risks of entering an over-saturated multiplayer market. Much like the hundreds of abandonware MMORPGS released every year.
Rather they should have known the risks of trying to make a successful MOBA. Only seen one MOBA make it after the big three (LoL, DoTA, Smite) which is Heroes of the Storm, and that's just because Blizzard is Blizzard.
It's indeed a big factor. Kind of sad to see that 40k is not that big a franchise that its name alone can carry a game. (at least till release)
Literally broke my heart when I discovered this game today (the day of shut down). Knew I should have checked on it more often. Making a MOBA at the moment is battling titans though. If it's not an almost-flawless game on first exposure, it's probably going to get completely ignored by MOBA players who have far more skill and time invested in the big ones.
Well they have been over-saturating the market recently, perhaps if there was less mobile releases and such things could have been different.
