Dark Eldar?

So who really wants to see the Dark Eldar included in the game? I mean REALLY want them... Should them be playable? (Totally) And would weapons and melee attacks be overpowered compared to plain old eldar? (No offense to you eldar fans, but come on... Dark is better)

Anyways.. I want to see them playable and not OP'ed. Just a bit better maybe, but not too much. I think it would be totally legit.

It's Eldar for plural, not elder! ^^

Anyway, this thread has been up a few times already, some in this subforum.

I'm cool with this game having every race and faction so long as there's a reason for it to exist in the game. Do you think they could make the Dark Eldar sufficiently different from normal Eldar to warrant them being their own faction? Or perhaps we would be better off simply asking for Eldar Pirate/Dark Eldar armor/weapon swaps to be made available?

Now as a Dark Eldar convert (from Ulthwe in 2nd edition) from Day #1, I would love to see them added. The Incubi are my all time favorite unit (Scorpions my second favorite obviously). But I don't know if they could make them different enough gameplay wise when all is said and done (will the player or his opponent care if you're shooting razor sharp disks instead of poison filled shards when both would probably deal the same damage over time when balance is taken into consideration, for example).

I strongly suspect that the popularity of the factions will determine the order in which they are implemented. You can expect Dark Eldar after the devs have worked their way down through Imperial Guard, Tau, Necrons, and Daemons. And probably right before Sisters of Battle.

If IG were going to be a faction, I assume they would release them in some expansion (along with other races) but use the IG as F2P option like the orks.

Something like Tau(playable) , Necrons (AI army like nids) DE (playable), SoB(playable), IG(cadian toops F2P)

We already have two different kinds of space marines with around 80% same wargear and half the same units.

I can think of one weapon Eldar and Dark Eldar have in common (Bright Lance and Dark Lance) and not a single unit that reminds one from the other (Incubi come close to SS, but still no).

I think Dark Eldar can be brought in just fine.

    Really?

You don't think Warriors and Guardians would play very similarly in a FPS? Banshees and Wyches? Scourge and Hawks? Haemonculi and Warlocks? I know in the lore and rules of the TTG they're very different, but in a FPS where the goal is unique classes on each side? It's going to be difficult.

By looking what devs have said, I'd think they would be very different. But this is just assumption.

    I meant lore-wise.

If we go by that, why not have all factions rolled into one?

EDIT: And yeah, I think the devs have mentioned they wont just be mirroring the classes, only the roles they have
