For a traitor I admit that you are good with a knife. This I like! *throws down mug and shatters it* Another! ^^
...And yet he still dies in droves like any other class... That's what matters in the end. Anecdotal evidence does not buck a clearly defined statistical trend, something people in this game seem to forget. If the shield allowed players to kill 100 people and not die, it would be reflected in the stats (kills, deaths, winrates) but it's not. That was my point. The shield is empirically proven to be balanced. Does it still have issues? Of course. But calling it "OP" is a straight up lie.
Specifically in those three games in this video it was 5 Different shield players after going back to count it in the video, not counting Shields that did not die mainly from my input without significant assistance from a teammate in a non 1v1 setting. I've seen Korealis dow some solid death dealing as a shieldbro, actually later that night I ended up playing with them while I was streaming on LSM side so he is a solid player. I think with alot of the shieldbros I fight with my knife are kinda surprised I go after them and initiate with a kick or bait them into attacking as I rush and roll into them for a follow up attack in the rear (Giggity) so it looks like poor play sometimes on their part but I think I am one of the few knife wielders dumb enough to rush them lol.
Yep, it's pretty incoherent If you really don't care about winning why would you even start talking about capping? Something's ain't right, smells like hypocrisy a bit It's the devs who decided that chaos is supposed to be melee oriented - that's why MoN can cap. However to me MoN is just a bit tougher tactical with better melee options, if the devs wanted so much chaos to be more 'melee' they shouldn't have nerfed MoN, it would be much more melee now Anyway, I understand that in the longer run there will be more options for chaos to specialise in close combat (when all marks will be present for example).
You're wrong brother, if metrics were able to 'catch' everything game studios wouldn't need proffesional testers and even with them we can see there's still a lot of bugs. One more thing, I don't know why everybody forgets that SB and some other classes or rather weapons were introduced later to EC than for instance tactical with a bolter or a heavy bolter dev\havoc, so the raw data may lead to false conclusions. If all the classes were introduced at the same time, then you could compare K\Ds and other numbers and say - yes, this is op and that isn't. The devil lurks in details .
Well, if I remember correctly the point I first was trying to make was, that the ability to cap on the MoN is a big advantage that we shouldn't forget. But I also think about the bigger picture and not only myself. I really do not care about the current situation. I will play Eldar anyway. In the end, you can't think it's a good Idea for the game if one side always wins more right? The devs will have to balance it. So, how can they balance it? 1. Somehow make it so more SM players pick a capping class. They can do it by incentivizing playing Tacticals more. Maybe starting a cap gives more xp, so you will get more people of the "farming/grinding" group to play a Tactical. Might help enough. Or they can make a melee option that can cap. 2. They can buff the combat capability of all SM across the board compared to the CSM. CSM will lose most fights, but they will still win equal amounts of battles. I don't think that is what we want. That's what I can think of. But I get the feeling we are getting a bit offtopic. What is your point exactly, what do you want? I think i lost the overview.
When did we start balancing based on one faction winning turning this into a merry go round everyone gets a turn to win? If chaos wins 60% why should LSM get a buff based off that? If there's a good reason for it I'm fine with the idea but right now chaos has one class that is in a completely shit state where the exclusive lsm classes have 2 in a really good state. Wish our sorcerer could carry a bolter while healing or even have a way of getting a decent ranged kill time that can't be completely immunized against.
