For those of you who haven't been watching the stream today a staple of the MMO genre will apparently be missing from this game. Vote in the poll and leave reasons why having or not having dancing emotes is a good use of resources and good for the community. If enough attention and votes is brought to oppose the decision then maybe it can be reversed.
No dance button? Oh well. I can live with it. And in all seriousness, I don't think one is required to be used on a battlefield. HOWEVER. I am voting yes because I wish to see pointless ways to pass time while on a strike cruiser. On the battlefield, absolute no. But surely you can allow an ork to do a little jiggle when the warboss is having his coffee in the ship, or a have a striking scorpion breakdance at the club on the craftworld!
The question isn't if dancing should or shouldn't be in the game, the question is wither or not it violates the lore? The last thing I want to see is a bunch of people sitting around "town" as Space Marines doing silly dances. Maybe you like it, but the vast majority of the fans of the franchise have no interest in it. If or if not the game has dancing in it, it's not hair off my back. I don't care either way; but it would annoy some people if it was in it.
Main problem with this whole thing is that space marines are so damn serious. Eldar are full of emotion and it wouldn't be breaking lore to give them the ability to dance outside of a battlefield. Orks are orks. They may even dance on a battlefield if they feel like it. Some chaos space marines may do that too. EDIT: If the dance-feature is kept away because of space marines, I would be okay with it. Because it isn't an important part of a game. BUT there could be alternatives. Maybe other kinds of unique emotes to the SM-faction? EDIT EDIT: I am totally stealing that pic for the 40k memes-thread
I can live without dancing. I know im not frequent about the whole listing the things that will break immersion but i think if i see a squad of loyalists on a hill dancing the YMCA ill laugh first, then think it was totally out of character for space monks.
