The timing on that sort of attack is very difficult.. its not like a plasma cannon that you can go into overcharge to buy you a lil time .. you have to be in just the right spot at the exact time the spell is complete. So mate, feel blessed that you have been killed by 1 of the funkiest "weapons" in the game. I have been practicing to get the timing right to fire bolts down corridors but between getting insta gibbed as soon as I step out or 1 of my teammates running in front of me and I blast the shit out of him and myself, the success rate has been very low. But hey , I'm going to just keep on trying like the lil train who could. I think I can... I think I can... toot toot
By the gods do I have to quote myself again? It's on the first page. The bolt comes out of your pants and hits the railing killing the sorc. it's garbage. So much for "peeking out of cover".
In my opinion: The size, time to cast and noise are all fine. These factors make the spell scary, because you know it's coming, and it's going to one-shot your ass if you don't avoid it. It is only how insanely easy to avoid it is that makes it as not-scary as it is. A simple speed increase would be sufficient. They claim you can "aim" it, to to speak. Being able to gently redirect it's path would be nice, in conjunction with a slight speed increase. It doesn't need to be a redirect-able plasma cannon glob... half that speed would be fine, in my opinion.
Now I'm imagining sorcs using a mega buster fighting 40k themed mega man bosses. Oh no here comes stalker bolter man your mortal nemesis!!!
