Hi, i wanted to discuss a bit the orks secondaries as some of them seem to have an exelent performance while others feel straight out like space filler for your inventory *coughsixshootacough* now dont get me wrong, this isnt "I WANT CHANGES NOW" thread, its just to point out if indeed some guns are underperforming too much in wich case yeah they should be changed but at the same time there is more important matters on the road that this doesnt need to be a primary focus imo, now i will share my opinion on these guns to see if im the only one having these issues or not -Slab Slugga: in my opinion this one hands down best secondary, feels like a pocket ace dakka sometimes because its accurate and it hits like a truck, even tho it have low RoF it still performs very well at CQC, the dead shiny version is surprisingly good although i dont think it is worth 100 more LP -One-Shot Slugga: this one... i have not found its use yet, i suppose it is to finish off weak enemies when on melee or something? even so i always dont "one shot" the enemy or the situations favors finishing him with melee instead, the concept of the gun its cool, i remember when i got it just shot the 1st guy i saw, he didnt die and i was like "oh wtf?" lol, of course if the gun was like that it would be a pocket kannon pretty much but even so, does this one got any specific use or is it "lolz orky"? -Six-Shoota: this one got me good, when i tested it on the garrison i was like "hot damn, accurate with good RoF? this thing will be good!" next match was the most painful match i ever had... not sure if i got unlucky to find only high armor dudes or what but my six shoota did jack shit, i had to spend 2-4 mags(or drums in this case) to kill someone, it feels quite... useless -Zip Slugga: this one i cant say anything about as i dont have it, stats wise doesnt seem too good tbh, high RoF with low damage is... meh, id rather have pocket ace dakka instead -Dakka slugga: i had some fun moments with this one, as soon as i got it back in the day i started to use it because i tough the starter pistol was shit( turns out i was shit lol) but even so today i can say this one is good, very good, it wont do much against heavy armor but for a dedicated melee it can be extremely helpful as all you gotta do is hold the trigger down and watch him die -Sparky slugga: this one (obivously) is a straight upgrade to the dakka slugga, even tho its only 10 points of extra penetration vs those heavy armor guys it can make a diference and besides that, it looks dope -Pokkit Rokkit Luncha: seems like a lot of fun and i can see it being interesting to have a rocket launcher as a secondary, never bothered using it tho because its too expensive LP wise imo -Da Buzz Killa: i almost bought this one multiple times because the description hits that its a noiseless gun? wich sounds interesting
Yeah. the one shot slugga does seem to be more ideal against eldar due to their low HP. Best on melee once you stun them somehow and blast them with it. As for the zip slugga, its best used when really up close so that the spread and high firerate can shred them. Against it seems to be good on Eldar. Personally I would be using more of da Buzz Killa if not for the LP cost so I just stick with Dakka Slugga.
I agree with you on your points with the sidearms I've used so far. With the 1-Shot Slugga, I found myself just thinking "I could save the LP and take my Big Soddin' 'Ero Slugga which will fill the same niche AND it looks snazzy. Also, very yes. Six-Shoota needs a real buff. Also, shouldn't the name be "Lots-Shoota" orkologically speaking?
One shot slugga on Painboy. If you get a good headshot off and then stab em they usually either die to the next swing or the poison. Not many people expect to lose that much health at once.
Burny Choppa + One Shot is great for similar reasons. Heavy Chop, Quick Chop, evade back, Blam! Don't even look back, DOT finishes for you. Just don't miss with the One Shot. MoN and Eldar are poison immune(ish) but nothing is fire immune.
I like the Dakka slugga. Its cheap, its good for shooting nids, and even if your enemy is fast, you will get a few hits in.
The one Shot slugga is for delivering a point blank shot after a Dbash, right in the head for maxiumum effect. The Zip slugga is good against shields, as the basic stormshield can only tank just over a full clip. Which, paired with someone else shooting it leaves the person on the receiving end helpless. It's also good against eldar, where you want something to pump out shots to counter der fancy dancin'. The Sparky Slugga is, after the toughness revamp not worth it. Ten pen on a side arm equates to little, since you can mod a Shoota to the same pen for only 50LP. I mostly use either the Slugga or the Dakka Slugga. There's also the Slow Git Launcha. A unique Pokkit Rokkit Launcha that fires a rokkit that's as slow as hell and relatively short range, but if it connects it's devastating, doing more damage than the regular one as well as usually stunning. It travels in a straight line though, and if used to fire volleys down a corridor with another Ork using one, effectively renders that corridor unusable.
Dakka Slugga is my favorite for just any Ork class, even when you aren't doing much damage the high RoF is usually enough to panic an enemy player causing them to dive for cover. The Zip Slugga is like the same thing but only better up close. The Six Shoota isn't too bad but I just don't have a situation where I'd want to use it, maybe if you treat it like a bolt pistol but idk. I tried Pokkit Rokkit but it just makes me wanna use my full Rokkit Launcher instead which is obviously better in every way, although I've heard people say it is useful for melee units because it stuns the target long enough for a finishing heavy attack but I haven't tried it
