Long story short, its kind of light version of heavy bolter, that's why it requires setup to shoot, however speed reduction on traverse at the moment is very inconsistent with the HB changes to same mechanic.

Its not really well portrayed in EC.
In DoW2 shootas with it also had ammo backpacks and ammo belt feeding the weapon.

I personally find the big shoota to be an amazing weapon as it is right now (when correctly modded). I rack up significant kill streaks with it as-is, though I have to play differently than I do with a shoota.

A removal of some of its balancing downsides would make it a little too good and a straight upgrade to the shoota, rather than a strong sidegrade.

Right, thank you wondrous Orkoid community; feeling sufficiently educated :)
A little squig told me Ork vid guides are already in the works. May or may not be Ork voiced tho. TBD I guess.

I don't use the big shoota much but it seems fine where it is. As others have said the rokkit needs a buff, it's accuracy too low beyond short range. The klaw needs fixing as well, although I don't use it enough to know what's broken on it.

You cant make rokkits more accurate unfortunately. Its a ohk weapon on a capping class. It just needs a fast charge or reload.

LSM have the plasma gun which shoots perfectly straight, which is basically the LSM equivalent to the rokkit. So that argument doesn't really hold up.

Except it cant cap on the ohk version and the basic version has plenty of downsides and takes even longer to charge up a full damage shot. If you turn rokkits into a long range sniper weapon it will just be too storng. Too many people will use it again and it will eat another nerf. Current version is fine once mastered.

There is no EQ to the Rokkit. It's primarily an AV weapon and the Plasma Gun doesn't OHK. It technically only needs to not miss something the size of a tank at 'tactical AV' range.

Technically its the ork meltagun in terms of battlefield role.

It's not fine at all. It is far too inaccurate to be a decent AV weapon at any range past 10-15m. The reload is a joke. The damage is inconsistent. I'm not too bothered about killing infantry with it since that isn't its intended use - when the projectile loops all over the place and hits boxes or walls before a vehicle though there is a problem. Didnt you suggest a reduced reload time? Why suggest this if it's fine where it is?

  10. Thoughts here.

Big Shoota - Role: Mid-range, suppression, great compliment to a squad without bringing a loota.

Rokkit - Role: Close range AV with poor effectiveness at anything not within 10 meters.
(I'd see either a fix of the rokkit having to be armed first, (2 seconds) then when you click again it's an instant fire, so the windup time is still there - and spaces the time between shots but gives more control to the situation)

(The second fix is just to tighten the paths it takes, some margin of error is fine, but knowing it's not going to hit / TK in the process isn't really fun or interesting.)
