At tye very least the turn while firing needs to be fixed. Its too easy to just run at a big shoota and get out of his firing line. That paired with the fire delay can make for a very easy cheese out that prevents the big shoota player from being able to use their gun. No other race has this on a non heavy weapon and its pretty damn unfair if you ask me.

The fire delay wouldnt bother me so much if the gun had some ammo mods as well. 75 bullets paired with its rof means its hard to start a pre fire and not just waste all your ammo.

And last the suppression doesnt justify its weakness as its pretty pathetic suppression compaired to other weapons. I can still out shoot a hig shoota with a bolter while suppressed and that isnt right. Either improve the suppression amount or remove it and put more power into other areas on the gun.

Actually that's a standard big shootah with a muzzle brake in some clips and a heavy barrel in others, the grip is a stabilising grip. It's yellow because of my sub faction.

I would strongly, strongly recommend taking a heavy barrel on any gun that can, it's far and away the best mod as the only downside is vertical recoil, which can be easily compensated for unlike horizontal recoil, and it literally doubles your accuracy.

It isn't meant to be used like a stubby shoota, it's meant to be used with enough distance that these won't have downsides

But it doesnt have the ammo to do that. If it had twice as much ammo so you yolo blaze away at an enemy without caring that'd be one thing. As it stands now at range you have to actually try and snipe with it to maximize it and not run out of ammo. This also means you have to glue yourself to boxes and transports limiting your versatility.

Didn't they add mags to the weapon?

    No, max capacity is 75.

I think the other major thing people are forgetting is the 100pen on the Big shoota
according to muh spreadsheetz, see attached(produced by someone else)

If you were shooting a shoota and a big shoota at a standard marine, the shoota is doing 9% less damage per shot, whereas the big shoota is doing full damage (range not included but big shoota has higher damage at max range anyway). It's not a ton per bullet but it adds up fast, especially with ork fire rates being decently high.

If you want the big shoota feel but in a more shoota package, go with the Rodeo Shoota, that's basically the ork Stormbolter but no mod support soooooo....yeah

EDIT: I also think suppression is highly undervalued. I've survived tons of engagements with the big shoota vs a heavy bolter because they couldn't aim for crap to fire back. Also the ability to suppress to cover allied approaches is never a bad thing.

The worst thing about the big shoota for me is I often run out of ammo if I stop paying attention. I'm spoiled by the shoota drum mag.

Of the two current shoota boyz I'm running - one has the rodeo for up close an personal while the other has the big shoota for longer - medium range engagements.

    lol no.

Also hit me up on Discord in pengu's channel or the EC general. I've already given both Mchan and Brent healthy amounts of feedback regarding Ork loadouts, classes, mod suggestions (Especially for the upcoming heavy weapon mods) and balance tweakings.
  10. I wouldn't change the Big Shoota, it does exactly what it's supposed to and it does it well. With mods I once killed 8 Marines in a row [IMG]

If the team is looking for orkish weapons to improve maybe they should have a look at the 6-Shoota (does it really has a reason to exist?), the Pokkit Rokkit (too much charging time for weapon that doesn't oneshot), and of course the Klaw (too slow to compete with the other melee weapons).
