bear in mind I just said 'top orks' not 'best kda orks' you can rank orks by a lot more than just their kills. Their ability to destroy enemy fortifications, the places they've captured, their leaderships skills, all can be given appropriate point values judged by the devs and used to rank orks worthy of being warboss.
The other problem with a fighting pit, when all the leaders are in the fight pit who is out there leading the boyz? Are you willing to lose almost all your territory just to be more orky?
I am pretty sure the strike force commanders who didn't get into the fighting pit for war council. People who get in should be voted to get into the fighting pit would be still fighting and leading DA boys.
Though Im prolly not going to get the game. I gota say, I wold throw my gretchin in the ring anytime! Small Iz Best! would be cool if the fighting pit has environmental hazards, like pitfalls, random walls of pointyness ect.
So basically what I got out of this thread is, that once at the beginning of each campaign the top 20 or so most effective force commanders (as judged by the achievements of their force) duke it out in a pit. The top one gets the title of Warboss while the top 4 (or whatever is needed for the council) under him become advisor nobz and members of the council. The Warboss should get a special skin and Waaagh! like buffs for himself and the orks around him, thus making it desirable and lore accurate. A rule about not being a Warboss 2 campaigns in a row (or maybe you can only do it so many times a year) should be implemented to prevent one or two people from hogging the title. Really with the friendly fire rules and force commander council votes, this could be player organized if enough people agree to it... but it would be much better if there was an in game system. This looks to be orky and lore accurate while maintaining a stable and effective leadership, what do you guys think?
If every ork participated then we run into the "good fighter=/= good leader" issue. Arranging that battle would also be incredibly difficult and in the lore only nobz (force commanders/guild leaders) can realistically take leadership roles. It doesn't have to be the top 20, it could be every guild/force leader with x number of members can be involved to make it more open. But you couldn't have every ork in the game participate, the leader ship roles should go to proven leaders so we have someone competent in charge.
well, zurely, if ya git koud really loot one'o doze 'ug bugz, i fink dat'z a gud ztart fer leadin a mob'o boyz....
ork fighting ranks would be interesting. You can only challenge someone in your own rank. once you've beaten up a bunch of them you enter the next rank. and so on. until there is only a few orks in rank one. IMA BASH YOUZ ALL!!!!
No, but I still like the concept. I think it should be a duel option amongst the biggest and greenest (best) players and could happen even on the battlefield. Support fighting it out and that those that do be worthy.
