Oi! Iz we gonna be ablez to make ourselves more flashy and more dead 'ard? I'z don't wanna look like sum normal git like da rest of da boyz. Okay, serious talk now... Not sure if this was already talked about, but wanted to get this out. Is there any chance that we'll be able to get a small customizable screen so we can alter the appearance for our Ork characters? I'm not talking about like in certain games where you can change every detail on the Ork's face like a slider scale to change the width, height, etc. for the face. Maybe more like 10 to 20 pre-made options as how certain MMORPGs like WoW and Star Wars: The Old Republic have their character creators set up with. Examples like: - Want your Ork bald or have certain different hair styles like a pony tail or maybe a Mohawk? And possibly the hair changes colors based on what Clan you are in. Could just be 3 options there. - Change the size of your eyes and shade of color for the eyes, like either a blood red or maybe some yellow or orange tint to them. Maybe 5 picks of eyes with Red, Orange and Yellow as the three picks for colors. - Different head sizes. This could have maybe 4 choices. - Different jaw/mouth options. Maybe 6 options. - Different set of teeth, maybe a few of them where you'd get a gold tooth? Could be maybe 8 or so - Face/War Paint that changes colors depending on what Clan you are in. This one could have a lot of options for patterns. - Maybe give us a option of different shades of green for the skin. Maybe 5 picks from lighter green to normal Ork Green to a dark green, maybe a bit of a Black Ork color? Most of them could have many variations we could get when making our own Ork. Since if you think about it, you wouldn't see two of the same looking Ork Boyz or no two Orks would look the same, plus I'm sure some people in the Table Top games used the different heads that comes with the boxes, and they would do some tweaks to try to make each other Ork unique from the rest. I know that this kind of stuff wouldn't be around when the Orks become playable during the Alpha and Beta process, but maybe something to think about post release? Would help give all of us Orks some variety when in a bunch of other Orks and to show off what we came up with.
Well I was basing that from what I recalled seeing from Dawn of War and from what I remembered seeing on some of the miniatures, like the Slugga Boyz had some pony tails. Weither it is hair or not, it should be an option for the Boyz to have it or not. Also, I hope they'll give us an option on how they'll hold their weapons. Want the Shoota in the right hand or the left hand while the Choppa is in the opposite hand, etc.
That was a hair squig Yes those exist Orks are Bald and can't grow hair That's why said hair squigs exist

Yo git I heard you like answers. So I put some answers in my answer! They're the official kind too! Character customization regarding appearance is part of the plan yes. For stats too and some of the stats accessories will have a visual change on your character. Personally I want bionics on all my characters (like this ork. and a limb made of wraithbone for Eldar) plus battle damage armor pieces. "- orks will probably have a ton of different things. -" Q: [46:49] Can you tell us more about the customization options? A: There will be a lot of visual customization options. You can visually customize weapons, add-ons to your armor... anything we can make. - said here in Twitch Episode Summaries - Into The Warp #25 question 11. One thing that is possibly unique to orks would be tattoos or warpaint being not just on their heads but other parts of their body because they can have armor designs that expose more skin. 1. (Team question) How will armor customization work (comsetic and not cosmetic)? Will armor have someting similar to weapon modules or will customization come only from traits and unlock? Will all races have the same methods or will different races have different mechanics? If it isnt something you currently thought about, what games are you looking into for inspiration for the said armor system? BRENT ELLISON: Accessories are basically the armour mods, which you earn through the progression tree. They modify your stats or other effects, but they generally are applied on top of the armour, visually. Examples include bionic eyes, pendants, purity seals, etc. -snip- - here in forum Q&A Answers Compilation Thread. Q: [51:52] Can you give any information on Character creation? A: You will have a no-helmet option and be able to pick a head. - in Twitch Episode Summaries page 4 post #28 question 10. 10. Will we ever see a face designer for each faction and following that be able to equip and unequip a helmet? BRENT ELLISON: Helmet-less characters are still planned but won’t be present for the initial Founder Access. - here in forum Q&A Answers Compilation Thread. 4. How many individual pieces of armour constitute a full suit and how many points on each piece might be customisable? if armour is for example 5 pieces ....chest, helm, greaves, gloves, backpack then how many potential types of customisation could be applied to any single piece, and at what other points on a character model could customisation occur? ie: cloaks, tabards, trinkets/trophies, belt accesories etc BRENT ELLISON: At the moment the character is broken into as many tiny pieces as you can imagine: rims, backback balls, shins, kneepads, etc. This is to facilitate any customizations, rank visualizations and allegiances we want to in the future. As for the player-facing customization, however, we haven’t finalized this yet. It shouldn’t be surprising at all (shoulders, backpack, etc), we just haven’t done the final checkoff yet. Note that for the most part the bits and bobs outside of the armour (trophies, belt accessories, iron halos) are actually being treated as accessories that you earn through progression and have stats or other effects associated with them. - said here in forum Q&A Answers Compilation Thread. Q: [34:17] Will the look of the characters change as they progress through the game? A: Yes, you get more customizations. There are also plans to have battle marks on the armor. - here in Twitch Episode Summaries - Into The Warp episode 2 question 10. -------------------- Also this because it's relevant to customization. 3. Are there any updates to the extent of what Eternal Crusade's version of a 'player studio' might entail? I.e. things that a player could submit for inclusion into the game such as helmets, animations, 3D models, etc. NATHAN: Three major things that are blocking that right now, which is our own focus on bringing Founder’s Access, that anything that goes in requires our approval as well as Games Workshop, and this is very much a post-launch feature. We still would like to see this in some form, it’s proven great when executed well in other games. I would first and foremost see this beginning with decals, “guild” markings and other such decorations. - forum Q&A Answers Compilation Thread page 3 post #27. My job here is done.
