For those of you who don't know what i am on about an adviser is they guy who tells you what the hell is going on. A good example of an advisor is in the game Planetside 2 where they are represented by; The Commander for TR, The Secretary for the NC (no I'm not being sexist she talks like a secretary) and The Omnissah for the VS. Now these characters work well in the Planetside universe but in 40K people have a very varied characters even within the same faction and therefore they may find it immersion-breaking to get intel from someone who they feel that their character would not trust be willing to listen to. For example The Night Lords lack any respect for daemons and the forces of chaos in general. I would therefore find it odd if I found myself using a daemon to get intel from. another example would be if an eldar wanted to get orders form their farseer or their autarch. Will we be able to customise who talks in our ear?
This would actually be rather cool. Although instead than customizable I'd say it should be linked to your subfaction.
but then you may get something like an ork speed freek gang taking orders from a warboss when they would rather take orders from a big mek. and all because they chose the wrong subfaction.
Sound's like a cool idea... but I have to agree with Marsh, seems pretty pointless, but I am hoping that they will get good voices for the advisor's seeing as they did pretty good with the website opening ones.
Well, they can probably recycle voice actors they already have (it's fairly common for one voice actor to voice multiple characters). Not a terribly high priority thing, but would be interesting.
or they could just use the voices that they will use for the different members of each factions command hub.
