Why does it seem like no one likes the cursed founding chapters? Imo black dragons seem like one of the most interesting chapters around. I'd love to seem some bone blade SM running around.
Lamenters are my hero's, broski. All they ever do is get rekt, but they keep dusting themselves off and throwing themselves back into the brawl.
Oh plenty of people like the first founding chapters, but the problem is they don't receive all that much attention until very recently. The Lamenters were only really focused upon thanks to the Badab War, and the Minotaurs underwent something of a restructuring in the same book, giving them some much needed info. Hell, 90% of what we know about the Black Dragons only comes from a single source. Besides that, the one most people really pay attention to is the Legion of the Damned. That said, it would certainly be nice for the Flame Falcons or Sons of Antaeus to get some real attention at long last.
I agree, It would be nice to get a bit more background on the 21st Founding. It was the Largest Founding of space marines since the second Founding, yet we only know a handful of 21st founding chapters. The only 21st founding chapters named in the Fluff that I know of are, The Lamenters, The Minotaur's, Black Dragons, Blood Gorgons, Fire Hawks, Flame Falcons and Sons of Antaeus. Would be nice to find out how many more 21st founding Chapters there where and what actually happens to them.
Lamenters all the way. We also need Marine Malevolents. HOPEFULLY after the Salamanders come out so we can piss them off.
The foundings were a good idea from a creative stand point for collectors but is an absoloute nightmare for writers. There are so many different foundings, chapters, and everyone has a different favourite, there is just to much to cover for fluff writers.
A lot of these chapters have been wiped out i think due to :no homeworld to recruit, suicide missions, and things like the inquisition deciding they were corrupted. The stories of how all this happened would be good reading. Plus the leftovers can always be used in other stories like death watch or more inquisitor stuff. Pretty sure everyone can agree that deathwatch needs more books.
