I am just worried It's hard to get the Eldar right, especially if you don't command an army, but you are one person. Because the classes are specialized, that means you would need someone to coordinate them. On the other hand, sometimes the Eldars specialization seems OP. I really do wonder if Striking Scorpions heavy armor will be reflected in game. I mean which game ever has given the steahlt class a good defense? On the other hand, they have no jumppack and not the speed of banshees.... It can work, but I am worried We will see. And even if the Devs perfectly balance it, it might still see imbalanced when you encounter an Aspect in it's perfect Situation. All the times you caught a Strikingscorpion in the open will be forgotten when he manages to ambush you.
The Striking Scorpion will have the same armor as the Dark Reapers and Fire Dragons, e.g. Heavy Aspect Armor, but they could always change their HP to "balance" them? I guess they might end up as a "less tough" MoN with Stealth/"Blend in".
I think they want Aspects to excel in their... aspect? They're meant to be insanely good in certain situations and the balance should come in whether it is easy to get them in a situation where they can perform optimally. If it's too easy then Eldar will be OPed and vice versa if it's too difficult. Still, it's good that we'll have an active opportunity to yell at the devs when we think they did something horribly wrong ! (and to silence all the Mon'Keigh who are whining about dying so much )
I'm curious on how stealth will work as well. I think they said they were against like "hit a button and something happens" style gameplay but I could be wrong.
I wonder if it will activate after (X) seconds of standing still ? It would be cool if it looked like:
All other ground assault troops have a mechanic to aid getting into melee; shields, toughness, and some sort of bullet deflection for banshees apparently. I'd be surprised if the Scorpions stealth mechanic was limited to standing still as that does not encourage offensive gameplay, and is of no use to an attacking team.
I really interested to see how they will implement Craftworld differencies. For Eldar they are even more prominent than for other factions army compositions - for example basic units of Ulthwe armies are mainly Black Guards and Warlocks - and it's interesting how they will implement such difference. I suppose Ulthwe will have BG at some point which will be more generalistic approach, classic style troop (perhaps will replace DA for Ulthwe)
I just remembered that if we are limited to fielding 5 Custom Loadouts, then we can't even make one for each class This is even more annoying since the Stock Classes rarely use up all their points! I really really really really really - infinity (circuit) - hope they will come up with a smart way to resolve this, and even though the Eldar only have more classes because they are less adaptable, then I still think we should have the same opportunity to create a Custom Loadout for each class. But then again; Will it really be worth all the whining about "Eldar being OP Hax!" ? EDIT: I really can't come up with two classes I could live without
No one said we will be limited to 5 loadouts per character at launch. There was talk of 10 or more but you can only switch up to 5 (might change also) in an active match, e.g. at the newly tested loadout stations on the fortress map.
