Brother Bloko, have you never seen the yellow accents on Ultramarines? I'm sure that if you read the post I referred to and tried to draw a conclusion, you'd end with the same thought ^_~ Another reason to start as the Ultramarines would be because a CGI movie was released with the chapter as the subject. Freshly indoctrinated ULTRAMARINES kill dozens of chaos, rescue a chaplain and keeper, and one of the recruits ultimately murders a demon in melee combat.
Those were fresh recruits on their first mission. I think that the Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine showed off seasoned Ultramarines nicely. Jumping from some thousand feet to land on, massacre, and crash an Ork vessel killing hundreds of Orks in the process then moving to kill hundreds more Orks, heretics, and demons within a day's time isn't bad at all. I'm feeling reluctant to acknowledge I've steered far from convincing ThisHermitGuy to join the Blood Angels to ramble over several posts about the little I've come across with the starting chapters. Whatever choice you make may be 2 years to come. Hopefully in that time I can avoid hijacking others' threads. ^_^
OK, now bear with me here... I think they should throw EVERYONE for a loop and instead of another chapter: Adepta Sororitas It could be done easily and the ladies would LOVE it. You'd get female gamer Clans by the droves. I remember reading a post on some forum about there not being enough female choices (because that's how the lore kinda falls) so that would be something.
Eldar will have female characters... And it has been clearly stated other races will be added AFTER release, i hope the sisters do make it eventually,same as we ended up with so many races on DOW by the time soulstorm came out
Devs have stated no skins other than the four planned chapters will be available, guess that means no designing option as in space marine
Yea, that's what I read. I just didn't know if they'd have enough... depth? to be released alone. But that's not true, they could break them down into Orders. I was worried about the Imperial Guard too, but they could really break them down too. Really, almost too many options with the Guard. Who cares about them! We're waiting for the Tau!
I'd have to agree, The most logical choice would indeed be The Space Wolves as they are the Ice to our Fire. So personally they would be who I'm playing as, at the start and I'm sure the rest of our brothers will join us. I look forward to fighting beside the wolves of Fenris as I find they are without a doubt one of the most honorable chapters in circulation and are very easy to get along with. That being said The Salamanders are not looking to merge with any other chapters, we will merely play with what is available to us from launch.
