    Good Afternoon,

This is Philos. I am doing a survey on what is hold ting this game back. It has the potential to be the next hit title. What is holding it back, please keep this to being a AAA Title ?

I would like to let the dev's know what the target demographic thinks what should be improved. If we find what most players don't like, this would only help the game grow, the community stronger, and help the player retention.

Please give feedback in a constructive manner to help the game :)

    short answer: a lot :p

the long answer: well the fourms are filled with them and im too lazy to list the near endless list XD

i know my response is not that informative or helpful but you don't have to look hard to find all the answers/ complaints/ etc that pop up nearly every day regarding:

    lag
    pvp
    pve
melle vs ranged (the never ending pendulum of one side being "blatant op" and the other side bitching about it )
weapon X being the current hot topic
map design/ size (a more rare topic)
    lack of gear/ LP prices
    classes or lack of.

Given the shitshow that comes ouit of the triple A market these days (ME:Andromaderp, Battlefail, etc) not being AAA is probably a good thing. But really needs more options and checkboxes.

I would say despite having 4 different races they all play the same, they all have a regenerating shield, they all shoot the same speed, there are a few unique weapons and ability's but other wise not much difference between them.

I am being in polite in asking, how many people are on the dev team ? I just know who goes on the twitches.

I don't know for sure, but the last time I saw a comment about the size of the team, the claim was that it's currently only 9 people. Seems like a reasonable guess to me, all things considered.

Why is lack of content not on this list? The game is missing terminators, a meaningful world map, a better designed tutorial that actually teaches the game, more maps, more game modes, campaigns that arent just a weekly grind, the blood and gore expansion, most of the RTC weapons and armor that was sold before the game was created, vehicle customization etc.

Considering bE is apart of the same team thats making star citizen I wouldnt be surprised if its really lower than average. I mean, Star Citizen is a bigger money making opportunity for Namco than EC to be brutally honest... And I swear, and I hate to say it, but this game is slowly loosing its appeal. Quite literally, no one wants to play it on f2p or premium because how broke the balancing is as well as the game in general. You can say I dont have faith, but I would reply with saying your lulling yourself behind a false vale. If you dont recognize the problems, then those problems are going to grow. Like so:

    1) AbbadonsGrace/AutoCannons are still sniper rifles when braced making them a highly viable option for any experienced or dedicated havoc player

    2) Eldar Vehicles can still cut people down by the many with its ease of use and speed

    3) Space Marines are still in limbo as to what their faction specific tactics and game-play style is

    4) The overall terrible feel of many later maps that are coming out are plain lazy in design

    5) Melee is still not a skill based system, its still about guessing and intuition on what your opponent is about to do next

    6) This is probably the biggest faulty element; every time a new weapon comes out or a weapon that has been a little on the under performing side are often nerfed into the ground to the point of sublime uselessness, or are so devastating you become a god among warriors with no effort needed. When said thing happens, the dev team seems to swing and miss for 4 patches or so until it becomes mildly acceptable.

These are the biggest issues I've seen for the past few weeks, and if you want to tell me that I'm wrong, or that I'm just being a downer, then by all means suit yourself. I've almost come to my breaking point, and thats coming from a guy whose been watching this games development since it was announced and took part in the founders program. If things dont improve for the better, I'm going to go spend my time on something more fun or productive, because playing this game has turned into a sort of chore that I like to do at first been when the crap comes out of the woodwork I get annoyed.

I haven't put the hours in yet for my response to be truly educated and nuanced but my experience so far makes me feel that the game should not have been pushed out of Early Access so soon. However, what's done is done and the playerbase and the developers need to make do with what we got.

I selected all but the last two options because I don't believe that EC, as a squad-based shooter, needs to have a engaging story to be successful. It would certainly make the experience more enjoyable and give me more satisfaction when my shuriken catapult turns my enemies into ribbons but, in my opinion, it is not vital to the game. The GUI and HUD are important systems but their design shouldn't make or break the game. There are a number of other lobby-based shooters out there with poorly designed interfaces.

From what I've experienced so far, the "lag/net code" should be a primary focus. I get decent latency (60-72ms on average) unless I get placed into a Frankfurt match and flying units still tend to teleport short distances. I know other people's experiences differ greatly from mine and their latency problems seem to render the game unplayable. I've been in that situation while playing Planetside 2 and I know how infuriating it can be and how quickly it can suck the morale out of you.

I don't have much to say on balancing because I haven't put the hours in to really develop an understanding of each factions strengths and weaknesses with the current 'meta' but I sure as heck know that the Eldar need some work. Hopefully I keep playing long enough to understand this topic more intimately. But I know from reading the forums that there's a litany of issues here that absolutely need to be addressed by the team before progress can be made on the rest of the topics.

On the topic of "lack of aesthetics," I'll say that variety is the spice of life. There's currently not enough (some factions *cough* Eldar *cough* are severely lacking compared to others) but then again, there can never be enough character customization. The maps are attractive but there's just something shallow about them. I can't exactly put my finger on it. I'm also really tired of getting stuck on rocks or other objects sticking slightly out of the ground. The lack of a basic 'jump' mechanic makes navigating maps rather obnoxious for new players. Sorry for the side rant.

Replay value? I'm not sure what other game modes could be introduced but more maps is always a great start. An unrealistic, personal desire is a grand world map with contiguous territories instead of only lobby skirmishes. The frenzy of a large battle on an open map would add an immeasurable amount of replay value. Yet, I know this is will just remain as a page in my dream journal.

Apologies for hitting your all with a wall of text.
