Nodding, "It is truely an honor M'lord. I will make preparations as soon as this delegation has concluded all of its plans. If it is not a burden I would also ask to station some of my men here to maintain a few carrier pigeons so that I can quickly get word to you as we gain more information." He nodded to the scholar as a gesture of good faith and future cooperation.
As the man sat down, Lin passed him a pint of beer. "Here you go Samuel, you fought like a true knight! And please, forgive my manners and me not preparing accordingly when meeting a lordling such as yourself!" Others laughed as they drank, already used to this behavior. "But I'm just a simple girl. Name's Lin by the way. So, they don't wanna give you an army to lead, well that's a shame. But I guess they would at least give you a horse to not go on foot with the rest of us peasants?" "A horse would be nice," Stabber sighed. "Shut it, damn you! I'm talking to a lordling here," Lin squeezed her sword, making more blood flow from the severed head. "So tell me Samuel, are they at least paying you well to hop around and fight crime during nights like these?"
<Group of noble women> "That is a good question, although you must keep in mind that during the tournament next month, most of the lords would have also discussed wedding plans." One of the younger ones, judging by the dress a Wuerttemberg, replied sincerely. <Delphi Lionheart> "Like fathers uncle? Geoffrey? Who married Freya, despite his own fathers wishes and the fact that Lionheart always had a dispute with the Wild Wolves of the mountains? Ah Geoffrey... He was quite a man, like father from what I hear in the family tales, was he not, ma'am?" The romantic young one inquired from her nanny. <Maximilian Lionheart> "It is him, who must decide who we wants in his delegation." With a hand gesture he referred to the young of family de Vergara. "Of course." He simply replied and drank some wine. The man rose. "With this I conclude the Grand Council for the agenda is clear. Hohenzollern, Heinrich and Glowstone shall arrange armies to prepare to march through the east into Noctiger land. Lionheart secures the western border, and Scholar de Vergara prepares the delegation to aid the Lykaions. But there are other things I have to discuss, but this is among the rulers only. Everyone leaves, except for Lucius the Second, Gerhard Heinrich and Alexander Hohenzollern." Given that he had been quiet toward the end and now demanded only the rulers of the vassals to remain, it seemed more was in the old man's mind. "Ser Roland. Please find my wife and tell her that I would like some of her Blutdurst Tea." Roland never heard about of such, neither did anyone else and Maximilian realized the suspicion and laughed a bit. "It's a Kharonis tradition." He simply explained. Though it was not exactly a lie, it was not the full truth either.
Samuel left the beer untouched, it wasn't as if he wasn't a drinker but he rarely drank among strangers unless it was a formal occasion and right now drinking in the middle of a scene of slaughter seemed anything but formal to him. 'A Heinrich is at his best with his feet on the ground where he can properly grip a sword or an axe with which to slay his foes, it isn't a question of if we can ride but the rather the ideal that while we can ride and I can ride well mind we would prefer to brawl with our enemies man against man. After all you do not mess with a Heinrich one of the oldest military families in the entire kingdom.' Finishing his proud rant Samuel looked outside onto the street, the outlook of the entire area still looked quiet dark and uneventful as it has always been so far. over in the distance he saw a second patrol of nightwatchmen stand and bicker among themselves as they pointed in the general direction of the tavern, it seemed likely that they might have seen the carnage even from so great a distance. it was fortunate indeed that even if they did decide to drop in Samuel was confident he would be beyond reproach particularly when his duties in this manner had been fulfilled. 'No, when my brother got me this responsibility the duty did not pay well at all at least not for my standard of living, freaking Oliver has always had an ambitious streak and even as he kicked out that worthless guard captain out of office for not giving proper respect he had this glint in his eye like this is where he wanted me to end up.'
Standing and bowing graciously, "By your leave M'lord." With that he departed the great hall while motioning for one of his retainers. Once in the hall he quickly scribed a note on a piece of parchment and handed it to the man, "Get this on one of the Carrier Pigeons and have it sent home immediately!" The attendant scurried off to do Marshal's bidding. He turned to the young scholar, "Now would you like to discuss the delegation or would you like time to yourself to think first. I know how you scholarly types are!" He said the last part with a sly grin. He was curious what the scholar would have planned for this expedition. But if he preferred to plan it alone there were plenty of single ladies he could spend his time with!
"Aye, we can talk about the arrangements later. I suppose.". Uchiha slid his chair back and followed the small crowd the quickly rushed out of the Lion's view. He did like his privacy. For now, there was nothing important to do, but he could make something important happen... @Casavay Uchiha had arrived just as the Wuerttemberg finished speaking. "You do not need such things my dear ladies. If you truly wanted to find a lord... go now. Find one that you fancy and feed him the vine's elixer(wine). When his face is full of glee and his speech is slow, ask him any question and he will proudly answer. Whether it is in his best interests or not! Then when he can barley tell the difference from his carriage and yours, take him to a temple and proclaim your marriage before the God-Emperor himself! " Uchiha said, before chuckling at his old joke. A whore once told him that one. It was two times as funny because of how ironic it was.
"So you got fucked up by your own family?" Lin sighed, "Nothing new there. I didn't even know my parents, Stabber's mom kicked him on the street when he was only 5 and Lambert's folks died in war, leaving him as an orphan. Shitty times for common folk, but eh, what you gonna do?" The girl stood up and holstered her sword. Both of her men rose up as well and Stabber went over to their dead comrades, taking the gold pouches they had on their belts and handing them over to Lin. There were five in total, obviously the merc life wasn't easy on everyone. She took three of the pouches and placed them on the table in front of Samuel. "First one is for the funeral of our comrades. Second you can give to the owner of this place as a compensation for all the trouble we caused. With this and the gold he earned during this week, I don't think he'll mind much. Third is for you. And before you say anything I want you to know that Lin always pays her debts. You came in and provided assistance when you could have just walked away. A real knight in shining armor eh? However if your knightly code prevents you from taking coin, toss it into a well or something, I don't really care. Since everything is settled I wish you to have fun on the battlefield alongside your other lordling friends. See ya," Lin winked at him and went out using the back entrance, away from the prying eyes, her men following her like hounds.
"Of course, thank you my Lord Maximilian."spoke young man, speaking the first name of the paragons of Lionhearths for the first time. "I will be honored to be in the company of such esteemed nobles."added Antonio, acknowledging them with the nod of his head.He cared not for the war,or the politics of it.He only wanted to save as many lives as possible and further his own knowledge by doing so.He was happy with that.But...if something threatened Lord Lionhearth...he still owed to the man. "But...if i may inquire..before i can depart. How am i aiding you and your House by doing this my Lord?"inquired Antonio, standing up from the floor, wiping his hand around his rust-red robe, circles on his chain clanging with the motion of his left arm. He left embattled family once before,it was his own.And he was plagued by guilt ever since. If that would happen again... Young scholar had worried expression on his face, his eyes narrowing, trying to figure out Lord Lionhearth`s plan. The expression didnt suit his almost flawless, dark face, not hidden under his hood.
Lady Lionheart "I suppose that is true, Miss Württemberg-", Phytihaere began, though she was cut short by her stepson's arrival and obscene joke. She rolled her eyes but remained silent, waiting for him to finish. At times like these, she resented the fact that the Bastard outranked her, for otherwise she'd let him have a piece of her mind. Instead, she was forced by etiquette to quietly look on and nod. "It is a glorious view on marriage you have, young Lord", the lady said, turning to face him, "surely there must be other things you desire to desecrate? Familial bonds? The nobility? No? That is no way to speak of the bonds of matrimony even in jest. Methinks you should-" Interrupted again, only this time, it was the gentle giant Ser Roland' s coming. He motioned for her to finish, but Pythiaere declined, raising her hand. "Please, speak, Ser Roland. Surely what you will say is more useful than my words." When she finished, the man nodded. "Kind words, madam, but I only serve as a messenger at this moment. The liege sent me to tell you of his desire for Blutdurst Tea, if I recall correctly." Her attention flared up again upon hearing of this. "He does? Of course, thank you for telling me, Messere. Please, excuse me." Pythiaere hurried towards her husband (it seemed as if pleasant walks had become a relic of the past), only to stop shortly before leaving line of sight to the group of nobles, and turn to Uchiha. "I have need of the young Lord as well. Come, Lionheart." She did not wait for him before proceeding further inside, however. Helga "Oh he was, young lady, he was! A good man, even if the Lionhearts don't like to talk of him. It seems to be contagious; when your mother was taught the Lionheart family tree, and I said to her 'See the story of Geoffrey and Freya, see how romantic it is?', she simply said 'Thees ees not rromance, Madam Helga, thees ees beastialeety'." Helga made a playfully grave face and affected an exaggerated Kharonis accent as she parodied the girls' mother, giggling as she returned to her full, mirthful voice and the speech pattern of the common folk. "But as somebody who's met Geoffrey, even if I was just a young chick back then when my ma worked for your family, let me tell you, he was a good man and very much like your father. Brave and courageous, courteous and polite, clever and smart, and probably the whitest knight to ever be mounted on a shiny steed if I'll name one! Had the Freya of stories not been a Wolf, he'd prolly liberated her from a dark dungeon if he needed to! Just imagine: A damsel, locked away by her parents because they disapprove of their love! A dashing knight riding to the rescue." She paused in her little dramatic imagining to chuckle warmly. "Only the truth is probably that Freya crushed just as many men skulls as women skulls. At any rate, they were good people."
Samuel continued to sit where he was, he stared intently at the small coin purse in front of him as the woman and the remainder of her gang left the tavern. For Samuel tonight had been the worst night he had in a while, the idea that even if it was a repayment of a supposed debt the idea that he had received charity from a peasant for his actions was little much for Heinrich to bear. If Oliver saw him now he would probably be laughing his breeches off which probably would be the best case scenario if any other nobles had seen this. He picked up the coin purse and placed it in one of his side satchels, he would sort out its contents later, in the meantime he drank heavily from the beer tankard, it would probably be better if he personally forgot the events of tonight for the well being of his own status. The second patrol of nightwatchmen came through the door looking around with a horrified expression on their faces at the scene of death of both their own, those of various local gangs and tavern staff, their eyes came to rest on where Samuel was seated the only person left in the Tavern. Heinrich was having none of their judgement as he rose to his feet and marched towards the patrol before these clowns said anything they might regret, displaying his seal of the Heinrich family he declared to the nightwatchmen. 'In accordance with the city laws justice has already been enacted and dispensed in this tavern, you are no longer needed in this affair, as commander of the city garrison I order you to return to the barracks and make a report to your lieutenant. Failure to do so will result in each of you being charged with insubordination and failure to carry out your solemn duty to the crown do I make myself clear?'
