You too miss the obvious chance that the rise of beastmasters could be very well an excuse for the Space Wolves to make Wolf Riders a common thing, without having to hide them from anyone or make them mythic at all.

Along with that you could push that even harder and make Space Wolves long-term tame other stuff too like you even suggested at the end with all the sort of monsters running around on Fenris.

So basically the Space Wolf should be a 'young' one (*cough* disguise *cough*) so that in reality he is like a ~300 year old wolf rider, but states he is like 110 or go figure.
