You want my opinion? One thunderwolf (perhaps even of a strain that grows larger than other thunderwolves, and perhaps much rarer). The bond of a Beast Tamer Space Wolf and his thunderwolf is one that goes beyond what a normal space wolf would feel for his wolf... does that make sense?

Not very much the ultimate wolf tamer would allways be Russ, then follow by Canis, since he also grew up amongst fenrisian wolves. Andthe bond is allready that of brothers and sisters, not master and slave

But i was thinking of making a char that has tamed a blackmaned thunderwolf.
But then again Fenris has countless grand beasts. Flying fire drakes, ice dragons, ice krakens, gargantuan krakens, Icebears, snow fiends, trolls, razor elk.

The wolves could just come in and join the idea, now that other chapters also started taming massive beasts.
(also, thunderwolves grow as large as APC's just no one have been capable of taming one that size xD

Well, what you need to understand is that the Beast Tamers are special. So even among Space Wolves he would be... different. It's not just anyone who can tame beasts as they do, so your character would be exceptional beyond the norm. And that is what would mark him as a Beast Tamer

I get your point, but its allready like that not anyone can tame a thunderwolf, or even a "normal" one.
Thunderwolf riders are all atleast the rank of wolfguard (dosent mean old and grey wolfguard is just spotted by wolflord for being something special) who chose to make the travel alone to the the peaks of Asaheim where the thunderwolves prowl. (Xept for Canis he was literally raised by fenrisian wolves) it is a hard task and great honer, and it requieres very special skills

We can allways just say its something new since the spacewolves deny the existence of thunderwolf cavelery and only one high quality vidio has been cought them on tape. Like a way for the wolves to introduce it/ help others.

It might not be the way you wanted to go but why not just focus on the Thunderwolf Cavalry and make everyone Space Wolves?

For the same reason I didn't focus on making it only about Salamander Beast Tamers (my original plan). It allows for more diversity and creativity, which means more fun.

I mean, did you see @Uriel1339 character sheet? That is the kind of stuff that makes a Beast Tamer! (Accepted, by the way)
