Varrick readied his bolter as he brought it up he took a Kneeling position pointing towards a tree beside him for Nix to take position on, He then leveled his bolter and took aim, His bolter took aim as he began firing at the imps not wanting there position to be over whelmed, He took aim at the Small imp like creatures first as he began firing Burst shots at them with his bolter, As He did he managed to take out two imps with his bolter, As 5 imps began circling around to flank the Iron hand Nix, lay in wait, Her tail coming up behind the tree first to spear a imp on, Then come charging with her claws, She grabbed one of the imps and began crushing as her other claw managed to swat another way, She bung it down similar to a dreadnought and threw it back as she began attacking any that came close to her [Results Varrick 2 imp kills, Nix 3 imp kills]
< EVERYONE > (@Casavay ) The horde crashes ever forward, and Gunther yells quickly at the gatekeeper:"Adonis! Slutte porten! Sikre Selalon!" At the end of that sentence, mechanical creaking comes from behind the Tamers as the gate begins to close, their guide drawing a broad metal sword from beneath his furs and standing in front of the gate, driven by duty to his home and loathe to leave the Astartes alone. Prometheus' missile flies straight as usual, blasting forward right after Cacasus' stalker shot blew the right side of a Frost Daemon's face, causing it to scream in pain as fluorescent white blood flies from the wound as it charges through the wave of imps, crushing a few beneath it in it's blind charge to harm its attacker, The missile blasting into the right shoulder of the Ice Golem, making the arm fall to the ground. Thus the first wave of creatures reaches the front lines... < @TARINunit9 > (Diolux) Meanwhile, the darkness helps the wildcat sneak around the flanks of the beasts, undetected by the horde of seemingly single-minded beasts, moving around the right flank. One of the larger gangling beasts, however, stopped its charge and looked in the general direction of Diolux, leaving whether or not he had been spotted unclear. (Cacasus) The beast that charged the Dark Angel was a whole two feet taller than the astartes, and about as broad. One of the muscular arms flies forward, aiming to pierce the Son of the Lion through the chest. However, it seemed that the lack of one eye does affect these monsters, as it merely nicks the side of the left Pauldron. < @Uriel1339 @Grimdestiny > What hit the marines first was akin to a swarm of grots with no weapons and weak claws. The most damage that was caused was a few paint scratches, and not much else. However, Prometheus, who was occupied with his launcher, found himself being a climbing gym for the small things. This would have been simply laughable, had something unusual not began to happen... the astartes felt cold, cold enough to cause a light wound. As if the wind of the outside had suddenly burst into his armor. Those looking on would notice the things on him glowing white, slowly sinking into his blessed plate. Most of the rest do their best to flow around the Tamers, running directly towards the gate and their Guide, who cuts down the nearest. "Du skal ikke passere!" Meanwhile three of the same beasts charge the middle, one smashing downwards towards the two marines, Prometheus and Dumas being knocked on ground, but able to quickly roll back to their feet. However the other two had already passed by and were also running towards the gate. < @Vulpas > The final Ice Daemon charged the final Tamer, being hit by an imp corpse and not even flinching, a wide swipe barely missing Nix and breaking the nearby tree in half, the other fist coming down and smashing into Nix's bionic claw, neither implement moving an inch. Behind the rest of these, the giant, spiked ice golems move at a lumbering pace, ignoring everything in a march towards the gate. The cold was intense and it numbed his skin, but it would not slow him down. "The Codex Astartes and my very will demand your death!" Promethus growled, grabbing the Missile Launcher with one hand in the left, drawing his Combat Knife with his right hand out of his waist-attached holster. "The snow of Macragge's winter is colder than you lot!" He ram the knife into the first one that was on his oppsosite shoulder. Then his missile launcher turned into a dangerous blunt weapon, it's entire weight coming crushing down on one of these snow-grots. Then he actually simply started to hack wildly at the rest with the knife, leaving no mercy. Being brutal and purposeful. His knife which was more of a shortsword for mere humans ripped easily one's neck off and once it's body fell from his back he kicked it like a footsoldier-ball into the distance. He really did not like melee. Ethon saw the situation of her swooped down and grabbed the remaining two imps with each of her mighty claws, simply flying up, before dropping them - swoop after them, and cut each in half with her steel wings. Seeing a Brother in trouble, Dumas moves closer to Prometheus but turns with his back towards him as he sees his brother handle the imps that have bogged him down. He Uses his bolter to pump two well aimed shots at the Imps closest to the Guide in a bid to protect him from harm. Teralix whips his head around without command, seeing his master fighting these creatures, Teralix snarls, his bright yellow eyes meeting those of the demon facing Dumas and Prometheus. He charges and He leaps on top of the Demon attempting to use his weight to push the vile demon over and rip out its throat (Strike). (Two dead gate charging imps and a strike on demon closest to Dumas and Prometheus)
Cacasus wasn't fazed, dropping back half a pace to dodge the swipe. If one bolt wasn't going to hold this beast back, he'd just have to pour in more fire, and he did, pressing the trigger until his magazine was empty into the beast's side. Bolters weren't technically intended for point blank range, and trying to lay into a charging foe could trip up even a space marine as a swinging weapon distracted the eye. But the Dark Angels would not be swayed as such; in their stoic, grim resolve they just focused on the target, seemingly careless to their assailants' menacing blades [Calling nine more shots point-blank into the Frost Daemon] Diolux feinted a charge, trying to bait his new foe into making a mistake. Surely a lumbering creature with bulky scythes for arms couldn't possibly match the agility of an alpha predator, right? [attempting to dodge and riposte, attacking with fangs to the neck]
Varrick Truned as he saw the snow daemon bashing Nix His bolter raised he began focusing as he took aim at the snow daemon, "Damned Ice creatures, Belt at my Wrath!" He yelled as he took aim and fired upon the Ice daemons Torso. Nix angrily backed away and began making attempted attacks at the ice daemon aiming at tearing its flesh with its own claws like it would metal. [Results Focused attack with Nix and Varrick attacking the Ice daemon]
AUDIBLE OVER THE DIN OF BATTLE IS A DEEP, EARTH-SHAKING ROAR, AS THE SUN BEGINS TO LIGHT THE BATTLEFIELD... < @Uriel1339 @Grimdestiny > As Prometheus and Dumas focus on the Various imps, Teralix leaps at the frost daemon attacking the Tamers. Perhaps it overestimates its strength, but it is unable to knock the beast down. He is able to sink its teeth into a shoulder, crunching through ice and frozen flesh, causing the right arm to hang limply. But even as the Diablodon lands back on the ground, a bladed fist catches him in the side, blades digging into flesh, force throwing him away and Causing a medium wound on the Volcanic raptor, the Daemon approaching the Tamers. < @TARINunit9 > (Cacasus) The resolve of the Dark Angel was admirable, every single one of the bolts slamming into the Frost Daemon as it turned, leaving nine craters in its upper torso. However, it still did not fall, bringing another fist to bear, this time connecting with Cacasus' chest, cushing the armor in slightly and causing a light wound. (Diolux) Indeed, the Daemon was niether fast nor quick, and tried to crush the charging cat with a downwards strike, which Diolux used to full advantage, leaping from the ground to the arm, and then to take a large bite out of the thing's neck. The cat's jaws close around something tougher than ice, and rips some kind of sphere out from the neck, keeping it in his jaws. As soon as the object is removed, the Daemon falls apart into shards of ice. < @Vulpas > Similar to Teralix's and Cacusus' attempts, the bolter rips chunks of ice from arms, legs and torso, but no matter how many holes are made, the frost Daemon doesn't fall. Indeed, even Nix's tail stabbing straight through the chest, until the tip sticks out the other side, doesn't fell it. And with two targets in such close proximity, something was bound to happen. The Daemon takes both fists, raises them over its head and smashes on Nix's torso, partially cracking the strong Exoskeleton and causing a light wound. < EVERYONE > The Ice Golems loom ever closer, now mere feet away from Diolux, but completely ignoring the cat as they continue to trudge towards the walled town. Meanwhile, Gunther is being swarmed by the imps, able to use his sword two bisect one before they leap on him, clawing at his furs with sharp claws and cackling insanely. "Forgive me, Sky-Men. I have failed you in my duty." Gunther yells to the tamers as claws find skin and begin to draw blood. "Jeg nå ut min sjel fra dette organet, til fest med forfedrene..." "Falt dyrene! Vi er Nord clansmen! Nå la oss bevise det!" Comes another familiar voice, the one of the gate keeper. And as if on command, what could have been the whole village appeared on the wall, holding what seemed like primitive guns. And indeed they were, as the two daemons rushing the gate pause, being assailed by many small bullets, each accompanied by a loud pop. Small chunks of ice fall with each impact, but nothing beyond halting the charge truly happens. The Dark Angel grunted and steadied himself as best he could; this foe was more persistent than a nurglite traitor. As his reflexes kicked in, shifting the bolter to his left hand while drawing his knife in his right, the thought turned over a few times in his mind; the shambling hordes reminded him of the loathsome zombie curse the plaguefather had assailed Havio II with. The undead would not be slowed by anything shirt of a swift decapitation. Regardless of any relevance here, Cacasus called on his training from his days as an assault marine, brandishing his weapon in a reverse grip. He swiped high, angling at the golem's throat [called attack to the neck] Diolux, having felled its beast, turned its attention to the smaller creatures scrambling about. The masters had thinned most of them out, but there were still fleshy creatures to sink his claws into [trying to kill remaining imps]
Dumas Makes a very quick assessment of the battle noticing Gunther's peril. He puts a hand on Prometheus back "Save Gunther" he yells as he takes a one handed shot with his Phobos bolter to take out one of the imps clinging to Gunther. Dumas then breaks out in full stride, sliding to next to his downed pet and unloading his clip into the demon's head approaching Prometheus. He then leans down and checks the wound of his close friend, using his Astartes training to make sure the wound is not fatal. It was not but the blow had broken several ribs and caused a rather large bleeding laceration to the side of Teralix. He knew that his friend would be hard pressed to move under his circumstance. (1 kill and 1 Strike)
"It will be done, while I keep the true threat under control, brother." Promethus replied simple, the enemy either lucky or smart enough to lure the Astartes to aid a human, forgetting about the consequences should the enemies reach the gates. But he also knew he was not alone, there was always someone at his side. "Ethon! Save Gunter, the human!" He yelled upwards into the sky, receiving a loud squeal in reply which was a 'because I want to.', as the Ultramarine identified. The bird swooped down relatively fast but slowed down extremely before being right over Gunter. She grabbed him by the shoulders as soft as she was capable off and headed to transport her new cargo beyond the wall. The Ultramarine observed the safe take-off and pushed another krak missile into his missile launcher to send toward the same Ice Golem he had hit before. [Focus Strike against Ice Golem... Uhm... 1?] Attempting to fell at least one of the three giants as they were the true threat to the village behind them, the other foes could be possibly held off by the wall.
