I just ordered my Founders pack and got everything all situated when I noticed the Rouge Trader Points (RTP) and was curious as to what they were all about. I did more reading into what they did and I got a bit concerned when I read that they would be used to purchase equipment and that you needed a monthly subscription/buying points to get new equipment. Now I have full faith in the Eternal Crusade dev team, but I have been hyped over a lot of games in the past only to find multiple strings attached. I was just wondering/hoping that you can get equipment outside of buying it with RTP. I do know that Miguel Caron said that he would have pay-to-win "over his dead body" but I just am a bit concerned.
Isnt the whole game pay to win they said? I heard you have to buy medic kits, even grenades basic things with real world money for each game. This is a model similar to Ghost Recon Phantoms, but that game is free, Im not sure why its in this game since people need to buy this game. Microsoft and Sony will not allow this type of game on their consoles if it is using a model where you need to buy the game and utilize microtransactions. So cross platform is out the window, that is why those packs are PC only.
This is news to me, I had not heard anything like this in the past. I heard that it would be a one-time buy with microtransactions for things seals and executions, not guns and equipment and items that are vital to the gameplay. If that's true then I'm already regretting buying this founders pack...
Well I'm looking over the FAQ right now, and I forgot to mention in my last post is that I knew that items would be available for purchase but that they would be about 20% weaker than items of the same tier.
Which FAQ should I read? I got the medic thing and grenades from the IGN interview I thought Miguel said that?
At this moment i feel like my bubble just got popped. Im waiting for more information and if I dont like their explanation I might just drop the thing like a bad habit.
